3. Aimed at curbing rampant irregularities and use of corrupt and unfair means in public examinations in the state, the Karnataka government on Wednesday tabled a bill in the Assembly proposing strict provisions of imprisonment up to 10 years and fine up to Rs 10 crore.

4. Markets were closed in Jaipur and some other Rajasthan districts and protesters blocked roads and stopped trains on Wednesday after a bandh call by the Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena over the killing of its chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.

1. The Indian Army has picked up 34 of 80 inhouse innovations powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and software applications, unmanned aerial platforms and counter drone systems for further development to fuel self reliance initiatives in the defence sector.

2. The Indian Government has approved the acquisition of 97 Light Combat Aircraft TEJAS (MK-1A) and has also given the green light for the procurement of 156 Prachand Combat helicopters. Among these, 90 helicopters are designated for the Army, while 66 are allocated for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Both the TEJAS aircraft and the Prachand helicopters are domestically produced, with a combined value of Rs 1.1 lakh crore.

3. A major reshuffle will be taking place in the Indian Navy top brass as a series of new appointments have been made. Western Naval Commander Vice Admiral Dinesh Tripathi will be taking over as the new Vice Chief of the force on January 4 next month.

4. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Wednesday (6th December 2023) presided over the first session of the Combined Leadership Conclave in New Delhi.
