1. The BJP led NDA has secured absolute majority in the General Elections by winning 292 seats. Results of all 543 Lok Sabha seats. The BJP alone has secured 240 seats. Telugu Desam Party won 16 seats and JD(U) 12.
The I.N.D.I.A bloc has bagged 233 seats. Others have won 18 seats in the lower house of Parliament. The Congress secured 99 seats. Samajwadi Party got 37 seats while Trinamool Congress 29. DMK managed to win 22 seats.
(a) In Assam, BJP has won 9 seats. Congress won 3 seats. United People’s Party (Liberal) and Asom Gana Parishad won one seat each.
(b) In Himachal Pradesh, the BJP has won all four Lok Sabha seats. Winning candidates include Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and actress Kangana Ranaut.
(c) In Uttarakhand, the BJP has bagged all five Lok Sabha seats.
(d) In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress has won 29 seats.
(e) In Rajasthan, result of all 25 Lok Sabha seats has been declared. BJP has won 14 seats and 8 seats have gone in favour of Congress.
(f) In Manipur, Congress has won both the seats.
(g) In Telangana, out of 17 Lok Sabha Constituencies, BJP and Congress have secured 8 seats each AIMIM has one 1 seat.
(f) In Tamil Nadu, out of 39 Lok Sabha Constituencies, DMK has won 22 seats. Congress 9 and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), CPI and CPI (M) two seats each.
(g) In Andaman and Nicobar Islands, BJP candidate Bishnu Pada Ray won lone Parliamentary seat.
(h) In Kerala, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has registered a clean sweep with a clear lead in 18 of 20 Lok Sabha seats. First time in the history, BJP has opened its Lok Sabha account in the state with Suresh Gopi’s win in Thrissur.
(j) In Karnataka, out of 28 Lok Sabha Constituencies, BJP has won 17 seats. Congress 9 and JDS two.
(k) In Odisha, ruling BJD has faced defeat in all constituencies while BJP showing its impressive performance has secured 20 seats. Congress won one.
(l) In Madhya Pradesh. BJP has won all the 29 seats in the state.

1. Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rashid and Amritpal Singh, who contested and won the just-concluded Lok Sabha polls as independent candidates from behind bars, will have to take court’s permission to attend Parliament and will be escorted under heavy security.
Rashid, lodged in Delhi’s Tihar jail under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), won the Baramullah seat in Jammu and Kashmir with 204,142 votes.
Waris De chief and separatist Amritpal Singh, lodged in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act (NSA), won the Khadoor Sahib seat in Punjab by a margin of 197,120 votes.

1. The Officers Training Academy (OTA) Gaya, a premier training establishment of the Indian Army, recently held a felicitation ceremony to honor the outstanding achievements of Officer Cadets from the TES-49 and SCO-52 courses.
