1. The President Smt Droupadi Murmu will attend the First Asian Buddhist Summit in New Delhi today. This two-day summit, beginning today, will celebrate the rich heritage of Buddhism.

2. The date for by-elections in 14 Assembly Constituencies of Kerala, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh has been changed. The Election Commission has announced the change of dates. The polling will now be held on the 20th of this month instead of the 13th of November. Counting of votes will however take place on the 23th of November, as earlier.

3. The first session of the newly constituted Legislative Assembly of J&K Union Territory began yesterday in Srinagar. The session is being held for five days. Addressing the session, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said the people now look up to the government with many hopes and aspirations.

4. According to government reports, Over 25 million applications have been submitted under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme since its launch. Out of these, more than 2 million applicants have successfully registered.

PM Vishwakarma Scheme stands as a testament to the government’s dedication to revitalizing traditional crafts and supporting the artisans who embody the nation’s cultural diversity and heritage.

5. A platform for creative expression and innovation, the Create in India Challenge (CIC) – Season 1 is gathering momentum ahead of the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES). In a statement, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed that the CIC has surpassed ten thousand registrations across the country so far.

6. Vice President Shree Jagdeep Dhankhar has said that people in public administration should be invariably committed to the values of nationalism, the idea of a developed and united India, and to serving all Indian citizens without fear or favour. He said this while presiding over the 70th Annual Meeting of the General Body of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) in New Delhi.

7. Meluri, inhabited by the Pochury Naga tribe, has officially been declared as the 17th district of Nagaland. The state government has announced the elevation of Meluri Sub-Division, currently part of Phek District, to a full-fledged district, with immediate effect.

8. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and south interior Karnataka. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are expected to receive heavy rainfall today. The IMD said Delhi and the National Capital Region are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours in the next 2-3 days.

The weather office also predicted moderate to dense fog conditions in isolated pockets of north-east Uttar Pradesh during morning hours.

9. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to embark on a six-kilometre-long padayatra along the Musi from Valigonda to Bibinagar in Yadadri district to highlight the pollution in the river on November 8, his 55th birthday and his first birthday as Chief Minister.

10. Andhrapradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has promised the “best” sports policy for Andhra Pradesh and said he would present it soon for cabinet approval.

11. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to arrive in Hyderabad city on Tuesday to participate in a party event related to the caste census, which begins across the state on Wednesday. The event will take place at the Gandhi Ideology Centre in Bowenpally.

12. A total of 4,140 candidates were left in the fray for 288 Maharashtra assembly seats after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on Monday. Polls will be held on November 20, while results will be declared on November 23.

13. ISRO announced the launch of its analogue space mission in Leh, Ladakh. This innovative mission aims to simulate life in an interplanetary habitat, addressing the challenges associated with establishing a base station beyond Earth. Through this initiative, ISRO seeks to gather insights and prepare for future space exploration endeavors.

1. The Supreme Court is likely to pronounce on November 5 its verdict on pleas challenging the Allahabad High Court judgment that declared the Uttar Pradesh madrasa law as unconstitutional.

On March 22, the Allahabad High Court had declared the Act as “unconstitutional” and violative of the principle of secularism, and asked the state government to accommodate madrasa students in the formal schooling system.

2. The Supreme Court sent notice to Delhi government and police, seeking their response over why the order banning the use of firecrackers during Diwali wasn’t implemented. It has also directed the state and the police as to suggest measures for better implementation of the ban order in the coming years.

The death count in the bus accident in Uttarakhand’s Almora district has climbed to 36. According to district authorities, the 45-seater passenger bus fell into a 200-metre-deep gorge at Marchula this morning while travelling from Pauri in Garhwal to Ramnagar in Kumaon — an overnight journey of about 250 km. It met with the accident about 35 km from the destination Rampur.

PM Modi has announced an ex-gratia payment of 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the next of kin of each deceased in the Almora bus accident. Rs 50,000 rupees will also be given to the injured.

Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered financial assistance of 4 lakh rupees each for the families of the deceased and 1 lakh rupees each for the injured.

India has unveiled its updated National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) during the 16th UN Biodiversity Conference in Cali, Colombia, committing to protect at least 30% of its terrestrial, inland water, and coastal marine areas by 2030. This ambitious target aligns with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF), adopted at the previous conference in 2022.

1. A MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday. Both pilots safely ejected from the aircraft. The jet had taken off from Adampur in Punjab and was heading to Agra for a training exercise when the incident occurred. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the crash.

2. The Indian Army’s Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Chennai, is set to conduct recruitment rally at Netaji Stadium in Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, from November 26 to 30, 2024. This rally aims to enroll candidates shortlisted through the online Common Entrance Exam for various positions, including Agniveer General Duty (All Arms), Agniveer Technical (All Arms), Agniveer Tradesman 10th Pass (All Arms), Agniveer Tradesman 8th Pass (House Keeper & Mess Keeper), Soldier Technical Nursing Assistant/Nursing Assistant (Veterinary), and Agniveer (General Duty) Women for the Corps of Military Police.

3. The Pakistan Navy successfully test-fired an indigenously developed ballistic missile having a range of 350 km from a warship.
The system is equipped with an advanced navigation system with features to change its direction and speed.
