1. PM Modi met Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh in New Delhi. The meeting came amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold a bilateral meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Mr Gen Nakatani, in New Delhi today.

3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that as a Defence Minister, it is his responsibility to work with the armed forces and give befitting reply to those who cast evil eye on India. The Defence Minister said this while addressing the Sanskriti Jagran Mahotsav in New Delhi.

4. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully carried out maiden flight-trials of its Stratospheric Airship Platform from Sheopur Trial site at Madhya Pradesh.

5. Border Security Force is all set to get the government’s final nod to raise 16 more battalions, comprising around 17,000 troopers, and set up two forward headquarters for its western and eastern commands guarding the Pakistan and Bangladesh frontiers, respectively.

Three Army personnel, including a junior commissioned officer, were killed when their vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a 500-metre deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Sunday. The Army truck was part of a convoy moving from Jammu to Srinagar along National Highway 44. The accident occurred near Battery Chashma at around 11.30 am.
