1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has called upon the heads of higher educational institutions to take new steps in the field of Artificial Intelligence. President Murmu made these remarks during her inaugural address at the two-day Visitor’s Conference which began at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

2. The first session of the newly formed Delhi Assembly concluded yesterday. A total of five sittings were held during this session which started on the 24th of the last month.

3. Completion of Patna’s first double-decker flyover faces further delay . The project was expected to be completed by Feb, but officials from the Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL) said that work will now extend till March 2025.

4. The Commission for Air Quality Management today lifted the restrictions under stage one of the Graded Response Action Plan across the National Capital Region. The decision came after the air quality of Delhi improved considerably in the last few days due to the favorable meteorological conditions.

5. Telangana government to launch women-centric schemes on March 8 : On March 8, the government will also initiate the process of issuing a notification for the recruitment of approximately 14,000 Anganwadi teachers and helpers.

6. The Odisha government has appointed Mr. Suresh Pant, a 1990-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the Odisha cadre, as the new Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF).

7. Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary exams began today. It will continue till the 25th of this month. A total of eight lakh 21 thousand 057 students are appearing for the exam in 316 centres across the State.

5. The Gauhati High Court on Monday granted bail to Mahbubul Hoque, Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), in a case related to alleged CBSE exam anomalies.

On February 21, Assam Police apprehended Mahbubul Hoque after a complaint was filed in Patharkandi, Sribhumi, alleging he received payment to assist in unfair practices during the CBSE Class 12 Physics examination.

1. The government has accorded Navratna status to the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). With this, all seven Central Public Sector Enterprise of the Railway Ministry have received Navratna status. The IRFC has an annual turnover of over 26,000 crore rupees. The IRCTC has an annual turnover of over 4,000 crore rupees.

Former Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch and two Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) officials have approached the Bombay High Court to challenge a special PMLA court’s order directing the Anti-Corruption Bureau to file an FIR against Ms. Buch and five others in a listing fraud case. The case, based on a petition by journalist Sapan Shrivastava, involves alleged stock market fraud and regulatory violations.

1. 2025 Oscar Winners : The 97th Academy Awards was held on 2 March 2025, celebrating filmmaking. Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony honoured films that captivated audiences worldwide, from epic blockbusters to intimate dramas.

(a) Sean Baker’s romantic comedy-drama ‘Anora’ took home the Best Picture award for film of the year. ‘Anora’ also won Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing.

(b) Sean Baker was awarded Best Director for ‘Anora’, which makes it his third Oscar win.

(c) Adrien Brody grabbed the Oscar for best actor for the film “The Brutalist,”

The Stryker, despite its underperformance in high-altitude trials, is being pushed for induction into the Indian Army through a government-to-government (G2G) deal, bypassing competitive trials.
