1. Amrit Udyan of Rashtrapati Bhavan is open for public viewing till the 31st of March under the Udyan Utsav-1, 2024. According to the release, People can visit the Udyan six days a week except on Mondays between 10.00 am to 06.00 pm.

2. The National Polio Round was held across 29 states of the country: A nationwide three-day pulse polio vaccination drive targeting children aged 0 to 5 is underway. Starting on Sunday, mobile teams, transit teams, and vaccination centers are ensuring comprehensive coverage in rural and urban areas across the country. The campaign involves door-to-door visits and booth-based administration of oral polio vaccine across India.

3. Indian Met Department forecasts intense rain and snowfall over Western Himalayan Region; Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remains closed for vehicular traffic.

4. PM Modi on Sunday (3rd March 2024) chaired a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers in New Delhi and brainstormed on vision document for Viksit Bharat 2047 and detailed action plan for next five years. Sources said a hundred-day agenda for immediate steps was also worked upon for quick implementation after formation of the new Government in May this year.

5. Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Irani released Haj Guide 2024 and launched Haj Suvidha Mobile Application yesterday in New Delhi. She said that last year, more than four thousand women successfully went for Haj under Lady without Mehram (LWM) category. She said this year, over 5000 women have applied under LWM category for Haj.

6. PM Modi has contributed two thousand rupees to the BJP to strengthen the efforts of making Vikshit Bharat. The Prime Minister also urged everyone to be a part of Donation For Nation Building through the NaMo App.

7. Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated Project ODISERV in Sambalpur, Odisha, marking a significant step towards preparing young graduates for employment opportunities in the financial services sector.

8. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate National Conference of Enforcement Chiefs of State and Central GST formations in New Delhi on Monday (04th March 2024). Department of Revenue is organising the one day conference. The conference agenda includes comprehensive deliberation on combating GST evasion and fake invoicing, and sharing best practices.

9. The Nagaland legislative assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution against the central government’s decision to fence the Indo-Myanmar border and suspend the Free Movement Regime (FMR) agreement with Myanmar. This resolution reflects the concerns of the Naga people regarding the disruption of historical, social, tribal, and economic ties caused by these measures.

10. PM Modi will launch development projects worth over one lakh ten thousand crore rupees during his five-state visit beginning on Monday (4th March 20214). He will be on a three-day visit to Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.

11. Recently PM Modi dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal. The developmental projects are associated with sectors like rail, ports, oil pipeline, LPG supply and wastewater treatment.

12. Delhi government will present the budget for the financial year 2024-25 on Monday (04th March 2024). The finance minister Atishi will present the budget.

13. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde has said that the Mahayuti alliance has resolved to win 45 seats in the state in the Lok Sabha polls to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a top economy.

14. PM Modi inaugurated the Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, marking a milestone since its foundation in 2018. This inauguration stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering an ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.

2. 71st Miss World pageant returns to India after a gap of 28 years. The last one was held in 1996 in Bengaluru, which was managed by none other than Mr. Amitabh Bachan and his company (ABCL). The event then was marked with controversy with protests across the state.

This year the 71st Miss World pageant will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai and the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, both are picturesque, architectural and engineering marvel. The event will be held at these venues from 18th February to March 9th.

3. Bhojpuri singer-actor Pawan Singh withdrew from the Lok Sabha poll contest from the Asansol seat in West Bengal on Sunday, a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party named him as its candidate from the constituency currently represented by the Trinamool Congress’s Shatrughan Sinha.

1. The Basai railway station in Agra has been renamed in honour of Captain Shubham Gupta, an Indian Army Officer, who was killed during an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. Captain Shubham Gupta lost his life on 22 Nov 2023, during an encounter with terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.

Born in Agra, Captain Shubham Gupta joined the Army in 2015 and received his commission in 2018, serving in the prestigious nine para regiment.

2. The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B) and Software Development Institute (SDI) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) announced a strategic partnership aimed at driving ground-breaking research and development activities, while fostering the creation of innovative products and processes.

IIIT-B will be extending its expertise to collaborate with SDI, a critical unit within the Indian Air Force, responsible for software development tasks related to avionics software systems and integration. SDI also plays a pivotal role in providing specialized training to selected officers of the IAF.

3. The rise of Indian defence manufacturers has helped the country increase its defence exports by 24% from 2021 to 2023. In 2023, the Ministry of Defence marked a historic year with defence exports reaching ₹16,000 crore, almost ₹3,000 crore more than the previous year. This is a 10-fold increase from 2016.

4. PM Modi will attend the war game ‘Bharat Shakti’ in Pokhran in Rajasthan on March 12 with the exercise only involving indigenously developed weapons platforms and systems. The war game will be attended by the top brass of the tri-services including Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan.

5. Indian Navy will commission the newly inducted MH 60R Seahawk multi-role helicopter on Wednesday at INS Garuda in Kochi. This will mark a pivotal moment in India’s Defence modernisation journey. The Seahawks squadron will be commissioned in the Indian Navy as INAS 334. The helicopters are a part of the 24-aircraft Foreign Military Sales contract signed with the US government in February 2020.

6. An Indian Navy seaman is reported missing from a naval ship since February 27 and a massive search operation has been launched to trace him. The Mumbai- headquartered Western Naval Command said the sailor has been identified as Sahil Verma and that a high-level board of inquiry has been ordered into the “unfortunate incident”.
