1. Counting of votes for Lok Sabha Polls will be held today from 8 AM onwards.

2. Counting of votes for Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and bye-elections to Assembly Constituencies in different states will also be held today. All arrangements have been put in place for the counting.

The National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) will be preparing a detailed feasibility report for the implementation of the Rs 285 crore project.

9. PM Modi paid tributes to Kalaignar Karunanidhi on his 100th birth anniversary on Monday.

Muthuvel Karunanidhi (3 June 1924 – 7 August 2018) was an Indian writer and politician who served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for almost two decades over five terms between 1969 and 2011. He is popularly referred to as Kalaignar (Artist) and Mutthamizh Arignar (Tamil Scholar) for his contributions to Tamil literature.

10. The Centre has introduced a new numbering series, 160xxxxxxx, for making service or transactional calls. This move aims to help citizens easily identify legitimate calls and curb unsolicited voice calls from telemarketers using 10-digit mobile numbers.

11. Heatwave conditions are very likely to continue in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Odisha on June 4-5; Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, and Jharkhand until June 7; and Bihar on June 6-7, The India meteorological department said.

1. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a directive mandating all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to remove any claim of 100 percent fruit juices from the labels and advertisements of reconstituted fruit juices with an immediate effect. It has also instructed all FBOs to exhaust all existing pre-printed packaging materials before 1st September 2024.

2. The Nagpur district court, on Monday, sentenced former BrahMos Aerospace Pvt Ltd engineer Nishant Agarwal to life imprisonment under the Official Secrets Act for espionage for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
Agarwal will also serve 14 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and pay a fine of Rs 3,000.

3. In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, two Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists, have been killed by a joint team of security forces in an encounter at village Nihama in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

4. The blood samples of the mother of the juvenile allegedly involved in the 19 May Pune Porsche crash case were collected on Monday for DNA. This is to confirm if the samples of the woman, who has been arrested, were used in place of the juvenile at Sassoon General Hospital for tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory to verify alcohol consumption, the official informed.

Two IT professionals hailing from Madhya Pradesh died when their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche car, allegedly driven by a drunk minor boy, in the early hours of May 19 in Kalyani Nagar area in Pune.

5. A Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of BRS leader K Kavitha till 3 July in a money laundering case linked to the alleged Delhi liquor scam. Three others accused in the same case – Prince, Arvind and Damodar – were granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on June 3 imposed monetary penalties on two cooperative banks citing rule violations. These are the Bavla Nagarik Sahakari Bank in Gujarat and the Ron Taluka Primary Teachers Co-operative Bank Ltd, Ron, in Karnataka.

2. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has proposed to allow overseas rupee accounts to lend money to persons resident outside India. Also, the central bank proposed permitting opening of rupee account outside India by persons resident outside India.

3. Mother Dairy on June 3 announced ₹2 per litre hike in milk prices in the Delhi-NCR market due to a rise in input cost over the last 15 months. In Delhi-NCR, Mother Dairy full cream milk will be available now at Rs 68 per litre, while toned and double-toned milk at ₹56 and ₹50 per litre, respectively.

4. Gautam Adani, the chairman of the Adani Group, has regained the title of Asia’s richest person, surpassing Mukesh Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mr. Adani’s net worth stands at an impressive $111 billion, ranking him as the 11th richest person in the world. On the other hand, Mr. Ambani’s wealth of $109 billion places him at the 12th position globally.

1. The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Navy are both taking part in military drills with other countries that are being held by the US. In Alaska, the Indian Air Force is taking part in the aerial combat training exercise Red Flag. In Hawaii, the Indian Navy will be taking part in the naval drill RIMPAC.

(a) The Red Flag drill was held in Alaska starting on 30 May and included IAF members. Included are advanced air combat scenarios meant to improve how allied countries work together and their strategies.

(b) *Exercise RIMPAC*: INS Shivalik, an Indian Navy stealth ship, was sent to take part in Exercise RIMPAC, which started on 25 June, INS Shivalik was part of the Japan-India maritime drill (JIMEX) and talked with other partner navies. People from 29 different countries are taking part in RIMPAC 2024.

2. A team from the United States is currently in India engaging in discussions regarding the acquisition of MQ-9B drones by the Indian armed forces.If finalized, the deal is estimated to be worth $3.9 billion, with 31 drones being acquired, 15 of which will have a maritime role.
