2. The Supreme Court today upheld the Calcutta High Court verdict invalidating the appointment of more than 25000 teachers and other staff in West Bengal schools. The top court said that the entire selection process is vitiated by manipulation and fraud and its credibility and legitimacy denuded.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh yesterday emphasized the importance of adopting the latest advancements in the Army Medical Corps to provide quality health services to soldiers. Addressing the 261st Raising Day celebrations of the Army Medical Corps in New Delhi.
2. Paras Defence and Space Technologies, an Indian defence firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MicroCon Vision, an Israeli company that is part of Controp and the Rafael Group. This collaboration aims to bring advanced drone camera technology to India at significantly reduced costs while enhancing indigenous production capabilities.

India has initiated significant steps in modernising its military aviation capabilities, including contracting the American firm Metrea for aerial refuelling and investing heavily in indigenous rotorcraft production.The Indian Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Metrea to provide air-to-air refuelling (AAR) services for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Navy.
4. Extended Grounding of DHRUV Helicopter Fleet For 3 More Months: The military’s Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) fleet, grounded since January 2025 following a fatal crash in Gujarat, will remain out of action for at least three more months as investigators continue to determine the root cause of the accident. This extended grounding affects approximately 330 DHRUVs operated by India’s three military services and coast guard.
5. A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Gujarat’s Jamnagar on Wednesday during a night training mission. The incident occurred in an open field at Suvarda village, approximately 12 km from Jamnagar city.
One of the pilots ejected safely and is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Jamnagar, while the other pilot succumbed to his injuries.
6. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has secured a significant contract worth ₹593.22 crore (excluding taxes) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the comprehensive maintenance of the Akash Missile System.This system was originally supplied by BEL.
