The regulator imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh each on Warsi and his wife Maria.
5. Delhi Police has said that approximately 900 illegal Bangladeshi nationals residing in the national capital have been identified and will be deported after proper verification. Delhi’s Special Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch, Devesh Chandra Srivastava, said.

7. A court in Uttarakhand’s Pauri district on Friday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment in the 2022 Ankita Bhandari murder case.
Bhandari (19), who worked as a receptionist at Vanantra Resort located in Yamkeshwar of Pauri district, was murdered on September 18, 2022 by resort operator Arya and his two employees Bhaskar and Gupta.

1. Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki has become the first woman officer from the Indian Navy to be posted as Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the President of India. The President is typically assigned five ADCs – three from the Army, one each from the Navy and the Air Force.
The role of an ADC involves facilitating coordination and communication between the President and various arms of the establishment, ensuring seamless staff work and official protocol.
2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that if Pakistan carries out any terrorist act against India, it will have to face the consequences and suffer defeat. He said India will not hesitate and will use every method to root out the menace of terrorism.
3. The 17th edition of the India-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise, dubbed Nomadic Elephant, is set to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This military collaboration will be held from 31st May to 13th June 2025. It is an annual event alternating between India and Mongolia.
4. India’s defence sector is projected to undergo a transformative expansion by 2047, driven by a nearly fivefold increase in its defence budget—rising from approximately ₹6.8 lakh crore in 2024–25 to ₹31.7 lakh crore by 2047, according to a joint report by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and KPMG.
5. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has taken a significant step forward in bolstering India’s indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities by signing a Licensing Agreement for Transfer of Technology (LAToT) with NIBE Limited, a Pune-based private company, for the Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) and its associated Battery Command Post (BCP).
6. India and the European Union (EU) are set to conduct a three-day joint naval exercise in the Indian Ocean from June 1 to June 3, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the deepening defence and strategic partnership between the two sides.

9. In a historic milestone, the first batch of 17 women cadets on Friday graduated from the Pune-based National Defence Academy (NDA), alongside over 300 male counterparts, marking the passing out of its first co-ed batch.
The cadets went past the ‘Antim Pag’ at the Khetrpal Parade Ground of the tri-service training academy in Khadakwasla, widely known as the “cradle of leadership”.
