1. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Monday successfully launched SpaDeX (Space Docking Experiment) as its final mission of the year.

The mission will see ISRO attempt to “dock” (unite) two satellites in space, a challenge only mastered by a few countries. For the project, ISRO is using an indigenous technology named the “Bharatiya Docking System.”

2. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold day and cold wave conditions in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad.

3. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will set up a Critical Care Block at the premises of the Trauma Centre. Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Monday, Director of AIIMS, M. Srinivas, said that the 200-bedded Critical Care Block will provide treatment to patients who are in critical condition and need immediate treatment.

4. According to Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Rabi crops have been sown across over 614 lakh hectare area so far. Ministry of Agriculture in a statement said that over 319 lakh hectare area coverage under wheat has been reported compared to 313 lakh hectare area during the corresponding period of last year.

5. Andhra Pradesh would start of nine new projects with total investments of Rs 1.82 lakh crore and a job potential for 2,63,411 persons. The projects were approved at the state investment promotion board meeting chaired on Monday by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat.

6. Delhi Chief Electoral Officer has received over 4.8 lakh forms for new voter registrations and more than 82,000 applications for deletion from electoral rolls in the national capital since 29th November this year.

7. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a two-day visit to Gujarat. He attended the grand Mahamastakabhishek ceremony during the concluding celebrations of the annual festival of the Shrimad Rajchandra Mission at Dharampur in Valsad district.

8. Telangana Legislative Assembly paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. In a special session convened today, the legislators urged the Centre to confer Dr Manmohan Singh with the Bharat Ratna.

9. In Himachal Pradesh, the work of road restoration in snow-covered areas continued in full swing. “The Atal Tunnel Rohtang, which was closed for the last three days due to snowfall, has been opened for emergency vehicles, while the movement of four by four small vehicles on the Manali-Kelang road has started from today. National Highway-5 in Kinnaur district has been restored for all types of vehicles till Pooh.

10. North India, including the national capital, will see a chilly New Year as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a significant drop in minimum temperatures across the region in coming days.

1. In Punjab, the day-long Bandh by farmers passed off peacefully. However it crippled the Rail and Road traffic causing inconvenience to general public. Emergency services, including Ambulances were, though, allowed to move.

2. Punjab Police has busted an ISI-backed narco-terror module by arresting five people, including its mastermind. They were also involved in lobbing hand-grenades at two police establishments, recently, in Batala and Gurdaspur.

3. The government has rejected media reports stating that Digi Yatra data will be used to crack down on tax evaders. The Civil Aviation Ministry has clarified that such reports concerning Digi Yatra are based on unfounded and inaccurate claims. It added that there is no sharing of Digi Yatra passenger data with Indian tax authorities.

4. Central Bureau of Investigation has registered one more FIR in connection with an alleged bribery scandal involving the Enforcement Directorate’s assistant director posted in Shimla, who had escaped during a trap operation conducted by the agency last week.

5. Delhi Police has made adequate security arrangements to ensure public safety and peaceful celebrations in the national capital in view of the New Year celebrations. With an expected surge in public gatherings.

1. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today chaired the sixth Pre-Budget Consultation with experts and representatives from the health and education sectors in connection with the upcoming Union Budget 2025-26 in New Delhi.

2. Newly appointed RBI Governor, Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, expressed optimism about India’s economic outlook in 2025. In his foreword to the December 2024 Financial Stability Report (FSR), Mr. Malhotra said that inflation is expected to decline, boosting purchasing power and giving the central bank more flexibility in supporting economic activity.

3. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered a strategic partnership with boAt, a prominent Indian audio and wearables brand, to foster innovation and support DPIIT-recognized startups, especially in the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) and manufacturing sectors. 1. The Ministry of Defence signed two contracts, worth around 2,867 crore rupees, for the construction of the Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) Plug for the DRDO-AIP system and its integration onboard Indian submarines, and the integration of the Electronic Heavy Weight Torpedo (EHWT) onboard the Kalvari-class submarines. Both contracts were signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi.

2. The 18th edition of the India-Nepal military exercise with the aim of security and expansion of bilateral relations is beginning at Saljhandi in Rupandehi on Tuesday. The battalion-level joint military exercise named ‘Suryakiran’ focuses on jungle warfare, counterterrorism in difficult geography.

3. Kaamya Karthikeyan, a 17-year-old student from Navy Children School in Mumbai, has made history by becoming the youngest female in the world to scale the highest peaks on each of the seven continents.

4. The Air Force Academy (AFA) hosted a two-week training camp for 54 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Air Wing cadets across India, including 18 girls.

Coordinated by the No. 1 Telangana Air Squadron NCC, the camp offered cadets a rare glimpse into the day-to-day workings of IAF departments.
