1. PM Modi addressed the 114th edition of Mann Ki Baat on Akashvani yesterday. He said,

(a) India has become a manufacturing powerhouse due to the Make in India initiative.

(b) PM urged the people to buy Made in India products during the coming festive season.

(c) The Prime Minister highlighted the success of Swachh Bharat Mission which is going to complete 10 years on the 2nd of next month. He urged the people to take part in the cleanliness, water conservation and tree-plantation campaign.

(d) He said, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has started 25 challenges under the theme, ‘Create in India’ in order to promote talent and creativity.

(e) PM mentioned about Mr.Subramanian, 74 years old from Kozhikode, Kerala, who is repairing and making chairs usable again. This man has repaired more than 23 thousand chairs and thus made them re-usable again.

(f) He also highlighted the participation of women in the water conservation.

2. PM Modi on September 29 flagged off the inaugural train from Swargate to the District Court on the Pune Metro underground section via video conferencing.

9. Union Minister of Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh will inaugurate a national workshop on the People’s Plan campaign famously known as Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas in New Delhi today.

10. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi will visit Ranchi today to attend the closing ceremony of the 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024. This event celebrates the collective efforts toward a healthier and more nourished India.

11. North Sikkim has experienced its first snowfall of the season, much earlier than expected, alongwith heavy rains that have triggered multiple landslides in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days.

12. The Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) released the broad outlines of a project on Sunday. Phase 2 of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which will also connect the Shamshabad airport, will stretch to 116.2 km, and cost about Rs 32,237 crore to build. The planned line from the airport to the proposed Skill University in Fourth City will cost Rs 8,000 crore and will run for 40 km, including a two-km underground section. The first phase, in contrast, ran about 70 km.

13. In Andhra Pradesh Free gas refills starts from Diwali: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has reached a 100-day progress report of his alliance government to every household through the Idi Manchi Prabhutvam mass campaign programme. Naidu also announced the fulfilment of another campaign promise: free gas refills starting from Diwali.

14. Justice Manmohan took oath as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.

15. Former CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat will be the coordinator of the polit bureau and the central committee of the party as an interim arrangement until the 24th party congress to be held in April 2025 in Madurai. Party general secretary Sitaram Yechury’s death recently left the post vacant.

Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge on Sunday (September 29, 2024) demanded the resignation of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman after a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against her in Bengaluru, following a court direction for allegedly extorting money through now scrapped electoral bonds.

2. Anti-Israel protests continued for the second day on Sunday in several areas of Kashmir against the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon.

3. The Supreme Court is slated to hear the suo moto cognisance of the rape and murder of a junior doctor at the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata today.

4. In Jammu and Kashmir, taking cognisance of the participation of government employees in election campaigning and related political activities, the J&K Election Office has suspended 23 officials besides disengaging 6 contractual/ad hoc employees for violating MCC guidelines.

5. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches across Amabeda area of North Bastar district in Kaker region of Chhattisgarh in connection with the killing of an Indian Army personnel by terrorists of the banned CPI (Maoist). Several locations belonging to 11 suspects were extensively searched by NIA teams during the crackdown in Useli, Gumjhir, Badetevda, Umarkumta, and Amabeda villages.

6. The police in Rajasthan have registered a first information report (FIR) against unidentified people in connection with an interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi that was allegedly held inside Jaipur Central Jail and aired on a private news channel last year, director general of police Utkal Ranjan Sahoo said.

1. In Jammu and Kashmir, a terrorist was killed today in an ongoing operation in a remote village in Kathua district, taking the death toll in the incident to two.

2. The Indian Navy is likely to commission Vagsheer, its sixth and final Kalvari-class submarine under a ₹23,562-crore programme called Project 75, in December.

3. The Indian Air Force has now officially released the AFCAT 2 2024 Result on September 27th, 2024, on the official AFCAT website.

Once the AFCAT 2 2024 Result is out, the Indian Air Force will immediately activate the portal for candidates to select their Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview dates and locations. Candidates who have cleared the written exam will be invited to attend this comprehensive five-day assessment, which evaluates their physical, psychological, and intellectual abilities.

4. SDGP Nalin Prabhat to take additional charge as DGP of J&K Police from Oct 1st. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on August 15, 2024, appointed Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Nalin Prabhat as Special Director General Police (SDGP) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police.

5. A Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable, Bashir Ahmed, was killed on Sunday during a fierce encounter with terrorists in the Kathua district. The incident occurred in village Kog, under the jurisdiction of Billawar Police Station, where security forces were conducting a search operation.
