6. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced fresh dates for cancelled and postponed examinations. In a notification issued yesterday, the NTA said the UGC-NET June 2024 examination will now be held between 21st of August and 4th of September.
7. PM Modi will release three books on the life and journey of former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today afternoon through video conferencing. The event is taking place on the eve of 75th birthday of Mr Naidu and scheduled to be held at Anvaya Convention Centre in Gachibowli, Hyderabad.
8. In the Kashmir Valley, the annual pilgrimage to the holy Cave shrine of Shri Amarnath Ji in upper Himalayas has formally commenced. The 52-day long Yatra will culminate on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Poornima on 19th of August this year.
9. The Assam Cabinet started the Assam Witness Protection Scheme, 2024 because witnesses in court cases are being threatened more and more. This action is in line with Section 398 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and is meant to make evidence in court cases safer and more trusting.
10. The Jharkhand government has taken decision for 200 units per month free electricity for domestic consumers. This decision was taken at cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Champai Soren.

12. In Telangana, government on Saturday extended the term of the Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose-led commission of inquiry into allegations of irregularities in construction of barrages at Sundilla, Annaram and Medigadda as part of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS) by two months.
13. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on Saturday announced “Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana” for senior citizens. It’s a pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens.

15. Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar on Saturday named Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader Sanjay Jha as the new Janata Dal (United) Executive President.
16. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin, introduced an amendment bill in the state Assembly aimed at strengthening the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937. This legislative move seeks to enforce stricter penalties for the manufacture and sale of illicit liquor.
17. Union Minister Anupriya Patel and Apna Dal (Sonelal) chief, has raised concerns over the treatment of Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates in Uttar Pradesh government job appointments.
18. Joint CSIR-UGC-NET June-2024 Examination which was postponed as a preemptive measure will now be held from 25th to 27th of July. The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC-NET is accepted for PhD admissions in Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
19. The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), which was also postponed, will now be conducted on 10th of July.

1. A Delhi court sends Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to judicial custody till July 12 in connection with alleged liquor policy corruption case.
2. A PMLA court in Ranchi remanded former Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam to two-day judicial custody in connection with an alleged money laundering case. He will be produced on the first of July before the court through video conference. The Minister was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on 15 May.
3. West Bengal governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose had filed a defamation case against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the Calcutta High Court. Earlier Mamata Banerjee has made a comment at a press conference at state secretariat Nabanna that women are afraid of going to Raj Bhavan Kolkata.
4. Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has issued a clarification following the collapse of a portion of the roof at Terminal 1 (T1) of Delhi Airport amid heavy rain on Friday. The collapsed structure was built by another company in 2009. L&T undertook an expansion project for T1 in 2019. The collapse caused several injuries and one fatality.
5. The Bureau of Immigration (BoI) slapped a fine of 1 lakh Rupees on Indigo, one of India’s largest airlines, for alleged visa-related violations.
6. The CBI conducted searches at seven locations in Gujarat on Saturday in connection with the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam and arrested a journalist in Jharkhand.

1. In Tamil Nadu, four persons were killed in a blast at a cracker factory at Sattur in Virudhunagar district. In the cracker factory, 50 labourers are engaged in cracker manufacturing.
2. Seven individuals lost their lives, and three others sustained severe injuries following a collision between two vehicles on the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, also known as the Samruddhi Expressway, in Maharashtra’s Jalna district on Friday night.
3. A portion of a fabric canopy erected at the pick-up and drop area of the Rajkot International Airport collapsed on Saturday after heavy rains, officials said. Nobody was injured in the incident.
4. Madras High Court Judge Justice G. R. Swaminathan has released a ‘performance report’ to the members of the Bar, on completion of seven years as a High Court judge. According to the report, the judge has so far cleared 64,798 cases.

1. The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Saturday recommended Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, who is one of the managing directors of State Bank of India (SBI), as its next chairman. Incumbent Dinesh Kumar Khara is set to retire on 28 August and the new chairman is expected to take charge on the same day.
2. State Bank of India (SBI), has floated ‘SME Digital Business Loans’ with the aim of sanctioning loans in 45 minutes. SBI identified the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) line of business as the focal point for the bank’s growth and profitability over the next five years.

Acknowledging the good and hard work, Rajinikanth called Kalki 2898 AD an Epic film adding that he loved Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone’s work in the film. He also said that he liked the film so much that can’t wait for its sequel.

1. Indian Navy Destroyer INS Ranvir arrived in Chattogram for a week-long goodwill visit. The visit of INS Ranvir coincided with the visit of Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff of Indian Navy to Bangladesh.
2. Indian Navy’s indigenous stealth frigate INS Shivalik, deployed in the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, is participating in the 29th edition of the biennial Rim of the Pacific exercise, the world’s largest international maritime exercise, being held in Hawaii.
According to the US Navy, 40 surface ships, three submarines, 14 national land forces, over 150 aircraft and more than 25,000 personnel from nearly 29 countries will be trained and operate in and around the Hawaiian Islands during the exercise,. It will continue till the first of August.
3. Five Army soldiers killed in a flash flood during tank warfare exercises in Ladakh; Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expresses grief.
The rescue operation for the mishap involving a T.72 tank near Line of Actual Control on Indo-China border during warfare exercise concluded yesterday. Bodies of all the five soldiers who were died have been recovered.
4. ABHYAS is a High-Speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) that was made by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru, India, for the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Its main job is to make fake enemy planes so that defense systems can practice. DRDO recently tested ABHYAS six times at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. The ABHYAS design lets it fly itself with the help of an autopilot device created at ADE.
5. The Indian Navy has issued a notification for the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme 2024 for the January 2025 course. This scheme offers a unique opportunity for young candidates across India to join the prestigious Indian Naval Academy.
