12. *UTTAR PRADESH* : A Mathura court will hear the maintainability of a suit in the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Masjid Idgah dispute and a petition seeking the prevention of destruction of “temple signs in the mosque” on August 8.
The court will also hear arguments for banding together all suits related to the dispute. Earlier, the Intezamia Committee questioned the maintainability of the suit.

IFS officer of 1994 batch Pranay Kumar Verma has been appointed as India’s next High Commissioner to Bangladesh. He is currently serving as India’s Ambassador to Vietnam.
15. Sandeep Arya, an IFS officer of 1994 batch has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.

1. *KARNATAKA* : CCTV footage of 23-year-old Fazil being stabbed to death in Karnataka’s Mangaluru has been released. Tensions ensued in the area of Surathkal after Fazil’s public murder, following which section 144 was clamped there. The video shows Fazil being chased and attacked outside a shop where he was standing and talking with an acquaintance.
2. *KERALA* : Several steel bombs were recovered from a vacant property in Kerala’s Kannur on Friday, police informed. The live bombs were spotted during a joint raid by local police and the city bomb squad at Vallangad under Panoor limits.
3. *UP* : six killed and seven others were injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda on Friday after a car rammed into a tempo. ”
4. *WEST BENGAL* : Former Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the teacher recruitment scam. The financial probe agency has so far unearthed Rs 50 crore cash from Partha Chatterjee’s aide, Arpita Mukherjee. But the Bengal minister, who is now embroiled in a scam worth crores, had just Rs 6,300 cash in hand over 10 year back.

A discussion on price rise will be held in Lok Sabha under Rule 193 on Monday and in Rajya Sabha under Rule 176 on Tuesday, reports said.
