1. Martyrs’ Day is celebrated on January 30 in India, the day when Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated by Nathuram Godse in 1948.
2. PM Modi on Monday interacted with students from all around the country in the seventh edition of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ (literally translated as discussion over exams) at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. 4. Beating retreat ceremony that officially marks the end of Republic Day festivities will be held on 29 January at Vijay Chowk.
The ceremony is a display of military pageantry and musical prowess. It includes the massed bands of the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force) along with pipes and drums bands from the Army, Air Force, and the Central Armed Police Forces.
5. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi will hold meeting with the floor Leaders of Political Parties in both the houses of the Parliament, before the start of the Parliament Session. The All Party meeting will be held at 11:30A.M today 30th January 2024 at Parliament Library Building, New Delhi.
6. Union minister Shantanu Thakur on Monday claimed that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA will be implemented across the country within a week.

1. The government on Monday extended the ban imposed on terrorist group Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) for five years for its involvement in fomenting terrorism and disturbing peace and communal harmony in the country.
2. A fatwa has allegedly been issued against All India Imam Organization chief Dr Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi after he attended the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January.
3. The Supreme Court on Monday extended the stay on the Allahabad High Court’s order for a court-monitored survey of the Shahi Idgah Mosque complex adjoining the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh as it deferred hearing on petitions challenging the high court’s order. Further hearing is in April.
4. Security was beefed up on Monday a day after a row broke out over the removal of a saffron Hanuman flag from Keragodu village in Mandya, with protests demanding its restoration and the incident sparking a political confrontation between the Congress government and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party-Janata Dal (Secular).

An Enforcement Directorate team on Monday visited the Delhi residence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to question him in connection with a money laundering investigation in an alleged land fraud case and camped there for over 12 hours. Official sources claimed Soren was “missing” and could not be contacted by the federal agency.
6. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad for over nine hours in connection with the agency’s money laundering probe into the alleged land-for-jobs scam.
7. The Supreme Court dismissed the AP government’s special leave petition (SLP) filed challenging the AP High Court’s grant of anticipatory bail to Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu in a case of anomalies in alignment of Amaravati Inner Ring Road.

2. Rolls-Royce announced a seven-year deal with Azad Engineering to manufacture and supply critical components for military aircraft engines.
Azad Engineering is based in Hyderabad, India.
3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 29 January said it has imposed monetary penalties on five co-operative banks for rule violations.
These banks are Mula Sahakari Bank, Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Urban Co-operative Bank, Bhilai Nagrik Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Krushiseva Urban Co-operative Bank, and Jila Sahakari Kendriya Bank Maryadit.
4. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board, which manages the affairs of the world-famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala, has approved an annual budgetary outlay of Rs 5,141.74 crore for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Whereas the previous revised budgetary allocation for 2023-2024 fiscal was Rs 5,122.80 crore, almost equal to the newly approved budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal.

1. Indian Defence officials on Monday (January 29) said that the Navy warship INS Sumitra has rescued fishermen hijacked by Somali pirates 700 nautical miles west of Kochi in the Arabian Sea.The Iranian fishing vessel MV Iman with around 17 crew members was hijacked by Somali pirates.
2. The Border Road Organisation on Sunday achieved a major milestone by breaking through Naushera tunnel on the highly strategic 200 kilometers long stretch which connects Jammu with Poonch border district, The tunnel spanning an impressive 700 meters is a crucial link connecting Akhnoor and Poonch.
Border Road Organisation (BRO) Director General Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan said.
There are four major tunnels — Kandi tunnel, Sungal tunnel, Naushera tunnel and Bhimber Gali tunnel — in this stretch.
3. INDIAN ARMY has invited applications for the NCC Special Entry 56 Course. The application process is ongoing and the deadline for submitting the application form is February 6. Candidates can apply online through the official site of Join Indian Army at joinindianarmy.nic.in.
