1. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will inaugurate the workshop on sustainability and circularity in dairy sector in New Delhi today.
The workshop will witness signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for the establishment of biogas plants across multiple states. It will have technical sessions on sustainable manure management models which convert dairy waste into biogas, compressed biogas (CBG), and organic fertilizers.

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Sunday removed her nephew Akash Anand from all party posts, appointing his father Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as national coordinators in his place, and said she would not name a successor in her lifetime. “The party is supreme and relations can come later”, said the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

1. In a fresh spat between IPS officers in Karnataka, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vartika Katiyar has accused her immediate boss D Roopa Moudgil of using police personnel to plant confidential documents related to other departments in her chamber. IGP D Roopa Moudgil also got involved in a public spat with IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri in 2023.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar defended his visit to Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Yoga Center in Tamil Nadu for the Maha Shivratri celebrations, calling it a “personal belief”.Shivakumar, who also serves as the state Congress president, addressed criticism from within the ruling party, saying that his attendance at the event was based on his own spiritual beliefs.
3. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Assaduddin Owaisi criticised the Maharashtra government for temporarily halting exemptions for delayed birth and death registration, highlighting the difficulties that children are facing in taking admission in schools.
Maharashtra government has temporarily halted the service since January 21 after BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged the issuance of fake birth certificates to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in some districts.

The bodies of the last four of the trapped labourers were pulled out from the site of the avalanche-hit Border Roads Organisation (BRO) camp in Chamoli on Sunday, taking the death toll to eight as authorities ended the nearly 60-hour rescue operation. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief at the death of eight people in the avalanche.

1. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently unveiled a mock-up of the BM-04 missile at the ‘Vigyan Vaibhav’ defence exhibition in Hyderabad. Described as a Short-Range Ballistic Missile (SRBM), the BM-04 is designed to counter enemy anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) capabilities, which are strategic systems used by adversaries like China and Pakistan to restrict operational freedom in contested zones.
2. Exercise Desert Hunt 2025, conducted by the Indian Air Force from February 24 to 28, 2025, at Air Force Station Jodhpur, was a landmark integrated Tri-Service Special Forces exercise. This high-intensity drill brought together elite units from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, including the Para (Special Forces) of the Army, the Marine Commandos (MARCOS) of the Navy, and the Garud Special Forces of the Air Force.
3. India’s ambitious deep-sea exploration project, Matsya-6000, has successfully completed its wet testing, marking a significant milestone in the country’s underwater exploration capabilities. Developed under the Samudrayaan Project, a component of the Deep Ocean Mission, Matsya-6000 is a fourth-generation deep-ocean submersible designed to accommodate three humans within its spherical hull.
