1. India Meteorological Department issued a warning of significant rainfall in Kerala due to Cyclone Fengal, which has currently weakened into a low-pressure area over north interior Tamil Nadu, extending into south interior Karnataka.

1. The Supreme Court refused to relax emergency measures implemented under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to tackle severe air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region till it noticed a downward trend in the air quality index (AQI) level.
The Commission for Air Quality Management in Delhi and adjoining areas submitted a report to the court seeking that emergency measures be scaled down from Grap-4 to Grap-2 as the AQI was in poor category.
2. The parliamentary committee scrutinising the Waqf (Amendment) Bill has sought details from various State governments about the veracity and updated details of Waqf properties which, according to the Sachar committee, they had occupied in an unauthorised manner.
3. The Telangana High Court directed the state government to treat the sub-castes Ausula, Kammari, Kanchari, Vadrangi and Silpis as being Vishwa Brahmins/Vishwa Karma, while recording data during the socio-economic survey, instead of recording them separately.

5. The FSSAI has reclassified packaged drinking water and mineral water as a high-risk food category, mandating stricter regulatory controls and annual facility inspections.
The move, effective immediately following an order dated November 29, requires manufacturers to undergo mandatory third-party food safety audits and comply with enhanced quality standards.

1. The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has witnessed tremendous growth of 45 per cent to over 29 billion dollars in April to September this year as compared to the same period last year. According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), the main sectors of the economy that benefited from the FDI include services, computer software and hardware, telecom, automobile, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

6. The cash-strapped Himachal Government raised a loan of Rs 500 crore last week, exhausting its limit of Rs 6,200 crore loan for the current year. Apart from exhausting the loan limit of Rs 6,200 crore for the current year (April 1 to December 31, 2024), the state government has also applied for a loan for the last quarter of the financial year 2024-25.

1. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has said that 96 Ships and Submarines will be inducted into the Indian Navy in the coming ten years. He said, 62 ships and one submarine are under construction and one ship will be inducted every month till next year.
2. The 4th edition of India- Malaysia Joint Military Exercise Harimau Shakti commenced at Bentong camp in Malaysia. Indian contingent comprising 78 personnel is being represented by a Battalion of Mahar Regiment. The Malaysian contingent is being represented by 123 personnel from the Royal Malaysian Regiment.
3. Around 2000 ex-servicemen will be hired to impart training to NCC cadets in their academies, Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lieutenant General Gurbeerpal Singh said.
