1. PM Modi will launch, inaugurate, and lay the foundation stone for multiple projects related to the health sector worth around 12,850 crore rupees in New Delhi today on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day.

The Prime Minister will launch the expansion of health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above as a major addition to the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

2. Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi’ a popularly Hindu festival that is celebrated as the first day of the grand Diwali festivities. It is observed on the trayodashi tith of the Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight of moon) during the auspicious month of Kartik as per the Hindu calendar. On Dhanteras there is also a tradition of lighting Yamadeep. In this ritual a diya is lighted for Yama, the Lord of Death, outside one’s home. It is believed that lighting this diya will ward off all evils and also prevent untimely death of any member of the family.

3. PM Modi yesterday dedicated the Gauge conversion of the Bhuj-Naliya rail line to the nation from Amreli in Gujarat. The 101.4-kilometre rail line project has been completed at a cost of around one thousand and 100 crore rupees.

4. Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal today launched the Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali campaign. This campaign aims to clean public places during the Diwali festival and will continue until 3rd November.

5. In a special initiative to increase voter participation in urban areas during the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, school students of Class 6 to 12 will write letters to parents to excercise their franchise.

6. Two-time Mumbai North Lok Sabha MP Gopal Shetty on Monday said he would file his nomination papers from Borivali assembly seat after his name did not figure in the fourth list of candidates announced by the Bharatiya Janata Party. He won the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat by margins of more than four lakh in 2014 and 2019, was denied a ticket in the 2024 general elections.

7. The Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi launched the Mobile Application of the FCI Grievance Redressal System (FCI GRS) for rice millers today in New Delhi.

8. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth via video conferencing during the Rozgar Mela today. The Rozgar Mela will be organized at 40 locations nationwide, with recruits joining the Central Government across various ministries and departments. Newly appointed recruits will have the opportunity to undergo foundational training through ‘Karmayogi Prarambh,’ an online module available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal.

9. Over two lakh 37 thousand volunteers of the National Cadet Corps, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, National Service Scheme and Bharat Scouts and Guides will be trained under the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan today launched this scheme in New Delhi during the 20th Formation Day celebration of the National Disaster Management Authority.

10. Telangana State Government has transferred a total of 13 IAS officers, four IFS officers, and 70 Special Grade Deputy Collectors and Deputy Collectors. The transfers, announced on Monday, are part of the government’s efforts to optimize administrative functioning across the state.

11. In a step towards spreading awareness about Dyslexia, the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Parliament, India Gate and other government offices have been lit red. This happens every year in October, which is International Dyslexia Awareness Month. The campaign aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma and eliminate discrimination around the disease.

12. The Telangana government has announced a landmark initiative to provide Rs 25,000 crore in interest-free loans to empower women entrepreneurs. This was revealed by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who highlighted the government’s dedication to making Telangana a leader in women’s empowerment.

13. Indian telecom operators have raised many issues connected with new regulations of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) that will come into force from November 1. This new regulation entails the traceability of transactional and service messages from banks, e-commerce platforms, and other financial institutions exempted earlier. If, at any point, there is an interruption in the message being sent, that message will be filtered out.

14. To make its satellites lighter in future, ISRO is going to launch its first home-grown electric propulsion-led spacecraft in Dec, space agency chairman S Somanath announced while also specifying new deadlines for its upcoming key missions like Gaganyaan, Chandrayaan-4 and-5, and Indo-US NISAR satellite project.

15. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) appointed Deepak Agarwal as the regular Managing Director (MD) of the National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED).

16. Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh launched the Pandemic Fund Project in New Delhi. This initiative focuses on enhancing animal health security in India. It aims to improve pandemic preparedness and response in the livestock sector.

1. Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand has issued an order prohibiting public gatherings, dharnas and protests across the city. The order issued under section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 (earlier known as Section 144) prohibits gathering of five or more persons, processions, rallies, public meetings and any display of symbols or messages that could incite public disturbance.

2. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Nagpur sub-zonal office, has provisionally attached movable and immovable assets located at various places across Maharashtra, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh. The attached assets valued at ₹503.16 crore is related to a bank fraud case of M/s Corporate Power Limited and their promoters and directors Manoj Jayaswal, Abhijeet Jayaswal, Abhishek Jayaswal and others under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

1. *Femina Miss India World 2024 Nikita Powal receives grand welcome in hometown Ujjain.* Miss India or Femina Miss India is a national beauty pageant in India that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss World, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants.

The first Miss India was Esther Abraham, from Calcutta, who won in 1947. The pageant was organised by the local press. In 1952, two Miss India pageants were held: Indrani Rehman and Nutan were the winners of the pageants. Nutan was crowned as Miss Mussorie.

1. Indian Navy’s frontline stealth frigate, INS Talwar, arrived at La Réunion on 27 October 24 as a part of her ongoing deployment in Indian Ocean Region. The visit to La Reunion aims to strengthen India – France partnership to tackle regional maritime security challenges.

2. Indian Coast Guard (ICG) simultaneously launched two Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) ‘Adamya’ and ‘Akshar’, with over 60% indigenous content, built by Goa Shipyard Ltd. (GSL) on October 28, 2024. The vessels are part of the contract signed with GSL for eight such FPVs to be built at a cost of Rs 473 crore.

3. The third edition of the Indian Navy’s Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar, Swavlamban – 2024, commenced in New Delhi. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi inaugurated this two-day event at Bharat Mandapam. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the Swavalamban.

4. Indian and Chinese armies have till now finished 80-90 per cent disengagement at Demchok and Depsang in Eastern Ladakh. All types of infrastructure were removed and the troops were pulled back from both sides.

5. Terrorists opened fire at an Army convoy Monday morning, targeting an ambulance, in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu region, following which special forces and National Security Guard commandos launched an operation killing one of the attackers.

6. The Indian Navy launched ‘Abhay’, its seventh Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC). The launch took place at L&T in Kattupalli, with Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar presiding over the ceremony.

7. The inauguration of the TATA Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, Gujarat, represents a significant milestone for India’s defence and aerospace sector, marking the country’s first private military aircraft manufacturing facility. This complex will produce the Airbus C-295 transport aircraft, with 40 of the 56 units being assembled locally, thus bolstering India’s Make in India initiative.
