1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh from today.
2. The Cabinet gave the nod to two multitracking projects across Indian Railways in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The total estimated cost of the projects is 3,399 crore rupees and will be completed upto 2029-30.

5. The Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan is agricultural campaign launched in India. It aims to enhance agricultural practices and support farmers across the nation. Scheduled from 29th May to 12th June 2025, it will cover various states and engage with approximately 1.5 crore farmers.
6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched Indian Railways’ first indigenously built 9000 HP electric locomotive in Gujarat’s Dahod. This high-powered, single-unit engine—developed with Siemens India—marks a major technological advancement aimed at improving freight operations.
7. In Manipur, ten MLAs called on the Governor of Manipur- Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan in Imphal and urged the Governor to expedite the formation of a popular government in the State.

1. The upcoming Central Waqf Portal, slated for launch in early June, will replace the existing WAMSI system with a more secure, three-tier verification process for waqf property data. Unregistered ‘waqf by user’ properties will be excluded initially. The new system, under the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, aims to enhance transparency and accuracy.

1. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices, MSP for fourteen Kharif crops for Marketing Season 2025-26.

3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently updated its Economic Capital Framework (ECF). This revision aims to provide the central bank with enhanced flexibility in managing surplus transfers to the government. This approach ensures that fiscal stability is maintained even in volatile economic conditions. The new framework allows for a contingency risk buffer (CRB) range of 4.5-7.5 per cent, expansion from the previous 5.5-6.5 per cent range.

Rachel Gupta, the first Indian to be crowned Miss Grand International, has stepped down from her title less than a year after her historic win. The 20-year-old model from Jalandhar announced her decision on Wednesday, citing “broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment” within the organisation as the reasons behind her move.
Rachel had won the Miss Grand International 2024 crown in a glittering ceremony held in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 25 last year.

1. India has officially cleared a ₹15,000-crore plan to develop its first indigenous fifth-generation fighter jet, the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), marking a significant leap in the nation’s defence capabilities and aerospace ambitions.Approved by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the project aims to deliver a twin-engine, stealth-enabled, medium-weight fighter jet.
2. Two Indian peacekeepers who lost their lives while serving under the UN flag last year will be honoured posthumously on International Day of UN Peacekeepers.
Brigadier General Amitabh Jha and Havildar Sanjay Singh will be honoured posthumously with the Dag Hammarskjold medal at a solemn ceremony today on the occasion of International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers.
India is the 4th largest contributor of uniformed personnel to UN Peacekeeping. It currently deploys more than 5,300 military and police personnel to the UN peace operations in Abyei, the Central African Republic.
3. The Har Shikhar Tiranga mission launched by a team of the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports has successfully culminated. Director of NIMAS and Team leader of the Kanchenjunga expedition, Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal, informed that a five-member team hoisted the Indian national flag.

5. Veteran mountaineer Kami Rita Sherpa from Nepal has once again made history by conquering Mount Everest for a record-breaking 31st time. Guiding an expedition that included Indian Army members, he scaled the world’s highest peak on May 27, 2025, further extending his unparalleled legacy.
