1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh on Sunday.

A High-Level Committee, under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has approved projects worth over one thousand 604 crore rupees for five states under the scheme for the expansion and modernization of fire services in the states. These states are Bihar, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Kerala.
6. The government has approved the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme to boost the manufacturing of electronic goods in the country and strengthen the electronics supply chain.
7. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Government has waived stamp duty on property transfers through Gift Deeds within blood relations. The stamp duty on property transfers within blood relations is a tax levied on gifting property between close family members. The exemption will come into effect on April 1, 2025.
8. The Telangana government will begin the distribution of free fine rice to ration card holders across the state from Ugadi, Telugu New Year Day, tomorrow.
9. Madhya Pradesh government is working on initiatives to connect the state’s natural, spiritual, and cultural heritage with major religious destinations in Uttar Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is focusing on the development of the Ganga-Narmada Tourism Corridor, which aims to enhance tourism collaborations between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
10. Madhya Pradesh government is procuring wheat at the Minimum Support Price, MSP and farmers are also selling their produce enthusiastically. So far 13.98 lakh farmers have registered for sale of wheat at the MSP this year. The last date for registration is 31st March.
11. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has broken his 123-day fast and accepted water, Punjab Advocate General Gurminder Singh told the Supreme Court on Friday.

1. The Central Government has issued a notification for the repatriation of Justice Yashwant Varma from the Delhi High Court to the Allahabad High Court, following the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendations on March 24. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has directed the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court not to assign any work to Justice Varma.
2. The Delhi High Court has ruled that restaurants cannot impose a mandatory service charge on food bills, making it voluntary for customers. Justice Prathiba M Singh dismissed petitions filed by the Federation of Hotels and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) and the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), challenging the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) guidelines prohibiting such charges.
3. Maharashtra government has issued guidelines to all its departments through a Government Resolution (GR) to promptly respond to “non-factual or misleading news” about the state government. The centre will analyse the coverage and take action on the spread of “negative” or “misleading” news related to the state government.
4. Punjab Government informed the Supreme Court that it has cleared the protesting farmers from the Shambhu and Khanauri borders near Haryana, and cleared the National Highway for free traffic movement.
5. Thirty-four people were arrested and internet services suspended in the Mothabari area and surrounding regions of West Bengal’s Malda district after clashes between two communities took place a day ago.

1. Union Cabinet, under the leadership of PM Modi, sanctioned a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for government employees and pensioners. This adjustment, effective January 1, 2025, raises the DA rate from 53% to 55% of Basic Pay/Pension.
2. The Government of India has decided to discontinue the Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS) for medium- and long-term deposits from March 26, 2025. The decision was based on evolving market conditions and the performance of the scheme.
3. The Indian government plans to raise Rs 8 lakh crore through dated securities in the first half (H1) of the financial year 2025-26 to bridge the fiscal deficit.
This is part of the total gross market borrowing of Rs 14.82 lakh crore estimated for FY26, as announced by the finance ministry. The borrowing will be carried out through multiple weekly auctions and will include Rs 10,000 crore of Sovereign Green Bonds (SGrBs).
4. India Becomes the World’s Second-Largest Tea Exporter in 2024.
India exported 254 million kilograms (Mkg) of tea in 2024, marking a significant jump from its 231 Mkg exports in 2023. In comparison, Sri Lanka’s tea exports remained at a similar level as in 2023, allowing India to secure the second spot.
5. India has emerged as the top milk producer in the world, with a current production of 239 million metric tons (MMT). Union Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh announced in the Lok Sabha.

The Reserve Bank of India has stated that as of May 1, 2025, customers utilising ATM banking services will incur a fee of Rs 23 per transaction, an increase from the previous amount of Rs 21 per transaction. The central bank noted that customers will still be eligible for five complimentary transactions (both financial and non-financial) per month at their own bank’s ATMs.

1. The Indian Ministry of Defence has signed contracts worth ₹2,500 crore to bolster the country’s military capabilities and promote indigenisation under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. These agreements include the procurement of the NAG Missile System (NAMIS-TR) and 5,000 light vehicles for the armed forces.
2. The Chinese military has expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Indian Army to achieve a fair and just resolution to the ongoing border issues and foster stable defence relations.
3. The Indian Army is raising the 72 Infantry Division under the Leh-based 14 Corps, also known as the Fire and Fury Corps, to reinforce security in Eastern Ladakh. This move is part of a broader strategy to bolster defences along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, particularly after the 2020 Galwan Valley clash.
4. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to deploy its indigenous D4 (Drone Detect, Deter, Destroy) system to safeguard urban areas and vital installations against rogue drones. This advanced counter-drone solution is designed to detect, track, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats with precision.
5. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has received approval from the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) to acquire six additional Netra MK-1A Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) systems, enhancing its surveillance and combat capabilities.These systems, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), will be mounted on Embraer ERJ-145 regional jets.
6. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has revised its contract with the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the production of Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) TEJAS MK-1 Final Operational Clearance (FOC) fighter jets, increasing the deal’s value from ₹5,989.39 crore to ₹6,542.20 crore.
7. A deadly gunfight erupted in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on March 27, 2025, resulting in the deaths of three policemen and two terrorists. The encounter took place near Jakhole village, approximately 30 km from Hiranagar sector.
8. Russian President Vladimir Putin has officially launched the nuclear-powered submarine Perm, marking a significant milestone in Russia’s naval capabilities. The launch took place via video link from the Arctic port of Murmansk, with Putin authorizing the event with the command, “Go ahead!”.
