1. A Delhi Court has ordered registration of FIR against journalist Rana Ayyub after a lawyer filed a complaint accusing her of insulting Hindu deities and spreading anti-India sentiment through her posts on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) platform.
2. Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief and rape and murder convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim was released on parole from the Sunaria jail in Rohtak district. The dera head is undergoing 20-year imprisonment in connection with the rape of two of his disciples. He has also been convicted and sentenced for the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
3. In Telangana, The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring Protection Agency (HYDRAA) took up demolitions of encroachments into plots close to Ameenpur Lake on Tuesday.
4. A three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday granted custody parole to Delhi Riots accused and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain, now an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidate, to campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. The parole is applicable in all cases where Hussain has not yet secured bail.
5. The Election Commission has issued a notice to AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the complaints filed by BJP and Congress over his allegations of poisoning the Yamuna River during an interview.

3. A bus carrying devotees from Himachal Pradesh en route to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj collided with a hydra crane in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district, leaving at least 32 people injured, eight of whom are in critical condition.
The accident occurred on National Highway-2 near Bhautar turn in the Saini Kotwali area of Kaushambi late on Monday night. The bus, which was hired by residents from Arki village in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district.

In what could be termed as a win for actor Dhanush, the Madras High Court on Tuesday dismissed Netflix India’s plea to dismiss the actor’s copyright claims over the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. The documentary, which chronicles actress Nayanthara’s wedding, was released on Netflix’s OTT platform on 18 November 2024.

2. An all Women Officers Seminar was recently held at Chandimandir Military Station to discuss the evolving role and contribution of women officers in the Indian Army.
