1. PM’s address in the 129th Episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’

(a) This year, ‘Operation Sindoor’ became a symbol of pride for every Indian. The world clearly saw that today’s India does not compromise on its security.

(b) 2025 was also a memorable year in terms of sports. Our men’s cricket team won the ICC Champions Trophy. The women’s cricket team won the World Cup for the first time. India’s daughters created history by winning the Women’s Blind T20 World Cup. The tricolour also fluttered high with pride in the Asia Cup T20.

(c) The number of cheetahs in India has now increased to more than 30. Many efforts related to environmental conservation and wildlife protection also became the hallmark of 2025.

(d) Health and Youth Call: PM Modi expressed concern over misuse of antibiotics without medical advice, urging responsible health practices. He commended youth energy, innovation, and leadership, calling them to lead nation-building efforts.

PM Modi said that on January 12, the ‘National Youth Day’ will be celebrated on Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary when a ‘Young Leaders Dialogue’ will also be organised.

(e) Cultural HighlightsThe Prime Minister lauded the Prayagraj Mahakumbh for showcasing India’s faith, culture, and heritage on a global stage. He highlighted Ram Temple flag hoisting and growing enthusiasm for swadeshi products

(f) The ‘Smart India Hackathon 2025’ concluded this month. During this Hackathon, students worked on more than 270 problems of more than 80 government departments.

2. Prime Minister Modi is chaired the fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries in New Delhi. The three-day Conference which began on Friday, is aimed at strengthening Centre-State partnership through structured and sustained dialogue on national development priorities. The conference focuses on the theme ‘Human Capital for Viksit Bharat’ covering best practices and strategies for states and Union Territories to follow.

3. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will grace the centenary celebrations of Ol Chiki Lipi, at Jamshedpur in Jharkhand. The Ol Chiki script was created in 1925 by Raghunath Murmu for the Santali language.

4. Congress yesterday celebrated its 140th foundation day at party headquarters in New Delhi. On the occasion, party President Mallikarjun Kharge hoisted the flag at Indira Bhawan in New Delhi.

5. Union Minister for Minority affairs Kiren Rijiju addressed the Buddhist conference organised at Mundgod Tibetan camp in North Kanara district of Karnataka. Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama graced the occasion.

6. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah has said that India will become the world’s third largest economy by 2027. Addressing the Youth Business Summit at Vishwa Umiya Dham in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

7. Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday announced an alliance between the Nationalist Congress Party and the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar for the upcoming civic polls in Pimpri Chinchwad, terming it a moment of “family unity.”

8. Uttar Pradesh faces a severe cold wave. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered all schools closed until January 1. He directed officials to stay alert and ensure no one sleeps in the open. Funds are released for blankets, shelters, and bonfires. Relief work is underway across the state.

9. The All India Shia Personal Law Board (AISPLB) on Sunday condemned the atrocities against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, saying Islam prohibits the killing of any innocent person and those doing so in the name of religion should refrain from it.

10. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for very dense fog conditions over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar till 31st of this month. Cold wave conditions will also prevail at these places.

The Bombay High Court has reiterated that India’s highest civilian honours, including the Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards, are not titles and cannot be used as prefixes or suffixes to an individual’s name. The court underlined that while such honours signify national recognition, they do not alter a person’s legal identity and must not be reflected as honorific titles in judicial or official records.

2. The Delhi High Court has ruled that proceedings under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act cannot be dismissed merely because the child victim turns hostile during trial. The court held that such cases must be examined in the broader context of vulnerability, coercion, and available scientific evidence, particularly when the accused is a family member or caregiver.

3. The Telangana state government has ordered the removal of elevated podiums resembling court benches from Sub-Registrar Offices (SROs), a long-standing feature of registration offices. Authorities have been directed to submit before-and-after photographs as proof of compliance.

4. Centre has provided an armed security cover to West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Agarwal in the wake of a potential threat to him due to the ongoing SIR exercise in the state.

5. A top level executive of Sigachi Industries was arrested in connection with the explosion at its pharma plant in Sangareddy district of Telangana in June that left 54 people dead, the police said on Sunday.

A major fire broke out aboard the Tata–Ernakulam Express (Train No. 18189) in the early hours of Monday, destroying two air-conditioned coaches and claiming the life of a passenger.

1. Actor Jaideep Ahlawat replaces Akshaye Khanna in ‘Drishyam 3’;
Film producer Kumar Mangat Pathak said they’ve issued a legal notice to Akshaye Khanna for breach of agreement for the upcoming film, Drishyam 3, after the actor refused to be “part of the film via a text message”.

Actor Allu Arjun has been named among 23 accused in the charge sheet filed in connection with the stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in RTC X Roads, Chikkadpally, Hyderabad in December 2024. The chargesheet, filed earlier this week by the Chikkadpally police, also names the actor’s personal security staff and the theatre management.

1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu undertook a significant operational engagement on Sunday by completing a dived sortie aboard INS Vaghsheer, an indigenous Kalvari-class submarine, along the Western Seaboard. This event marks a rare instance of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces participating in such a submerged naval operation.

2. President Droupadi Murmu became only the second President of India to experience an operational submarine voyage. APJ Abdul Kalam was the first President of India to undertake a submarine sortie in 2006 at Visakhapatnam.

3. The Indian Air Force has unveiled the first official image of its S-400 air defence system, now designated as Sudarshan, marking a pivotal advancement in India’s aerial defence capabilities.

4. MSA Global Technology has achieved a landmark milestone by becoming the first company in India to manufacture all-metal barrels for the Grad BM-21 multiple rocket launcher system.This development marks a significant step towards self-reliance in defence manufacturing, aligning with India’s broader indigenisation efforts.

5. The Indian Army has launched a robust counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir, targeting key Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) operatives, including the local commander Saifullah and his aide Adil. Sources indicate that these high-value terrorists, each carrying a bounty of ₹5 lakh.

6. Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has publicly admitted that his military secretary urged him to seek shelter in a bunker during India’s Operation Sindoor in May 2025. Speaking at a public gathering on Saturday, Zardari recounted how the secretary approached him amid the escalating conflict, declaring that war had begun and insisting they move to safety.
