nasal vaccine against Covid 19

1. Bharat Biotech has said that its nasal vaccine against Covid-19, iNCOVACC, would be available to the public from the fourth week of January.

1. Seven persons were killed after they accidentally fell into a waterbody following a stampede at the roadshow of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Kandukur of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

2. Four terrorists killed in encounter in Jammu; Security beefed up at Vaishno Devi shrine, other religious places.

Additional Director General of Police, Mukesh Singh, said a Quick Response Team of the J&K Police noticed an unusual movement of a truck on the national highway. Following this, the Srinagar-bound truck was intercepted by the police at Sidhra Bridge.

3. A Jharkhand actress Riya Kumari was shot dead during an attempted highway robbery in West Bengal’s Howrah district on Wednesday, she was travelling to Kolkata from Ranchi with her husband Prakash Kumar and their 2-year-old daughter.

4. TV Actress Tunisha Sharma had a conversation with her ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan shortly before her death, police said. Sheezan has been arrested on the charge of abetment to suicide.

1. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the reappointment of Baskar Babu Ramachandran as the MD & CEO of Suryoday Small Finance bank for three years.

2. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) will soon introduce “Bima Vahaks” in each gram panchayat. It would be tasked to sell and service simple parametric bundled insurance products, Bima Vistar, covering health, property, life and personal accident.

1. Lieutenant General Arvind Walia has been appointed as the next Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army. He would be succeeding Lt Gen Harpal Singh who is superannuating on December 31.

2. A new British Indian Army Memorial will be built in Scotland’s Glasgow city. The city’s local council has approved the plans subject to conditions. The memorial will commemorate the sacrifice of millions of Indian soldiers who fought alongside the British during World Wars I and II.

3. The Indian Navy (IN) took delivery of the INS Vagir, the fifth submarine under the Project-75, Kalvari class submarines. Constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, in collaboration with the Naval Group.

4. The *Soviet-origin* K-43 was a Charlie-class nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine operated by the Indian Navy as Chakra. It was built between 1964 and 1967 and was commissioned into the Soviet Navy on 5 November 1967. It later served as INS Chakra in the Indian Navy from 1988 to 1991.
