2. PM Modi Inaugurates India’s Fully Indigenous 4G Stack and 1 Lakh BSNL Towers from Odisha: PM Modi launched over 97,500 new 4G mobile towers across India, including 92,600 towers equipped with fully indigenous technology, as part of a major push to expand digital infrastructure. The towers installed by BSNL at a cost of approximately 37,000 crore rupees are expected to bring high-speed internet to 30,000 additional villages.
3. In Assam, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) returned to power with a clear majority in the Bodoland Territorial Council Polls, winning 28 seats of the 40 member council.
4. The Telangana government has issued an order to implement the 42 per cent quota for Backward Classes (BCs) in the upcoming local body elections. The Orders came nearly a month after the state cabinet decided to implement the reservations for Backward Classes. The bill related to it is still waiting for the President of India’s assent.
5. Telangana State Government has agreed in principle to take over the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase I, which is under Public-Private Partnership. As part of the one-time settlement, the government will pay 2,100 crore rupees to L&T towards its equity investment and also take over the project’s debt of approximately 13,000 crore rupees.
6. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the collectors of 17 districts to take proactive measures to prevent possible flooding, where heavy rainfall is likely to take place.

18. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, and Madhya Maharashtra.
The IMD also estimated thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, East Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during 3-4 days.

1. Restrictions remained in force in Leh continuously for the fourth day yesterday after the violent incident happened on the 24th of this month. The paramilitary forces intensified patrolling and checking following the detention of the Climate activist Sonam Wanchuck under the National Security ACT (NSA) on Friday.
In Leh (Ladakh), there have been protests and unrest led by local groups and political activists. The main issues are:
(a) Ladakhis are demanding inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution (special protections for land, culture, and jobs for tribal areas). They fear outside companies and settlers could take over land and resources.
(b) Local youth want job security in government and public sector jobs.
(c) Full statehood for Ladakh, which became a Union Territory in 2019 after Article 370 abrogation.
2. Manipur Police disposed of over 332 kilograms of narcotics, including six kilograms of Heroin powder, at the Shija Common Bio-Medical Waste Treatment Facility at Lamdeng in Imphal West District.
3. Punjab Police, in close coordination with Central Agencies, have succeeded in extraditing Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Parminder Singh Pindi from Abu Dhabi, UAE to India.

1. At least 31 persons have lost their lives due to a stampede in a massive road show of Actor Politician Vijay at Karur in Tamil Nadu. The marathon rally went on for more than three hours with people of all ages rushing to have a sight of the actor. The actor and founder of the Party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam had called for a road show yesterday. PM Modi expressed grief over the unfortunate incident during a political rally in Karur.

3. Over 15 college students were injured in an accident and admitted to hospitals in Perambalur. The accident occurred on the Tiruchi-Chennai National Highway due to a brake failure in the college bus.

1. The Assam government has extended the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), 1958, in three districts for another six months, effective from 1st October. Assam government issued a notification yesterday, stating that the AFSPA has been extended in areas covering Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivasagar districts.
Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), 1958 is an act of the Parliament of India that grants special powers to the Indian Armed Forces to maintain public order in “disturbed areas.
2. India bids a final farewell to the iconic MiG-21, as the fighter jet made its last flight during rehearsals at Air Force Station Chandigarh on 24 September 2025.
The official decommissioning ceremony was held on September 26, marking the end of its 62 years of service in the Indian Air Force (IAF). The No. 23 Squadron “Panthers” was the last to operate the jet, first inducted in 1963.
The MiG-21, once the backbone of IAF’s combat fleet, played crucial roles in the 1965 & 1971 wars, the 1999 Kargil conflict, and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes.
3. The Indian Army has issued a major tender worth ₹30,000 crore to acquire the indigenous ‘Anant Shastra’ air defence missile systems from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). This procurement represents a significant step in strengthening the Army’s air defence capabilities and reducing reliance on imported systems.
4. India and South Africa successfully concluded the 13th Navy Staff Talks from September 24–26, 2025. The deliberations were aimed at deepening operational collaboration, expanding avenues of naval cooperation, and addressing critical issues of maritime security across the Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
