1. Muslims across the world celebrate Eid MILAD-UN-NABI to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam, also believed to be the messenger of God. The date for the festival is dependent on the positioning of the moon. It will be observed this year on 28 Sep in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka.

2. Both the Houses of Parliament have been prorogued by President Smt Droupadi Murmu. The four-day-long Special Session of Parliament began on the 18th of this month and was sine die on the 21st of September.

3. The Cauvery Water Regulation Committee recommended Karnataka to release 3,000 cusecs of water every day to Tamil Nadu starting from September 28. The committee made the decision after holding a meeting on Tuesday.

13. The Hanging Gardens of Mumbai is a 136-year-old landmark likely to be razed over a reconstruction work of a colonial-era reservoir, which is located under the garden on Malabar Hill. 1. The government has eased some of the provisions of the angel tax introduced in this year’s Budget by non-resident investors. Angel taxes are taxes funds raised by startups if they exceed the fair market value of the company. It is a 30% tax that is levied on the funding received by startups from an external investor.

2. National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) said it has issued its first rupee-denominated AAA rated social bonds with a total size of ₹1040.50 crore. The bonds issued privately to eligible institutional investors will be listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on September 29, 2023.

3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted its approval for Poonawalla Fincorp’s collaboration with IndusInd Bank to issue a co-branded credit card.

4. The RBI revoked the license of Mumbai’s Kapol Co-operative Bank Limited due to concerns about its insufficient capital, earning prospects and its ability to meet depositor obligations.

5. The income-tax department conducted searches at the premises of IT hardware maker Lenovo on Wednesday as part of a tax evasion probe against the company.

6. Government E-Marketplace (GeM) will launch GeM Sahay 2.0 for the sellers to provide easy access to loans up to 10 lakh rupees.

7. The income tax department has carried out searches at the Chennai facility of Flex, a supplier of Apple products, in Tamil Nadu.

1. THE VACCINE WAR is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language medical thriller film directed by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Pallavi Joshi. Releasing today on 28 Sep 2023.

The film is based on the true story of the development of the Covaxin (BBV152), an inactivated coronavirus vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech in partnership with the National Institute of Virology and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The film features Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, Girija Oak, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Sapthami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur.

2. The Film Federation of India has announced that the Malayalam movie “2018: Everyone is a Hero,” based on the Kerala floods, will represent India as its official entry at the Academy Awards or Oscars in 2024. The film, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph.

1. MINISTRY OF HOME AFFAIRS (MHA) has extended the application of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA) in specific regions of Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh for an additional six months.

(a) EXTENSION IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH:

Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts in Arunachal Pradesh, along with the regions under the jurisdiction of Namsai, Mahadevpur, and Chowkham Police Stations in Namsai district.

(b) EXTENSION IN NAGALAND: The districts of Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek, and Peren, along with specified police station jurisdictions in various districts.

(c) The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act or AFSPA was extended by another six months in Manipur on Wednesday barring 19 police stations falling under the Imphal valley and an area that shares its boundary with neighbouring Assam.
