3. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will chair the 43rd GST Council meeting through video conferencing at 11 A.M. in New Delhi today.
The meeting will be attended by Minister of State for Finance, Anurag Thakur. Finance Ministers of States & Union Territories and senior officers from Union Government and the States will also participate in the meeting.

5. SBI customers alert: Bank changes rules for cash withdrawal from ATM, branch : The new rules and regulations for the basic savings account holders will come into effect from July 1, 2021.
The SBI said that the service charge beyond four free withdrawal will be Rs 15 plus GST per withdrawal at all SBI ATMs.
The service charge levied for non-SBI bank ATMs is also Rs 15 plus GST.

6. Haryana schools likely to reopen for Classes 9 to 12 from June 1.

7. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) directed the states and union territories to continue with ongoing COVID-19 guidelines till June 30* saying it was “important” to strictly implement restrictions for bringing down the number of active cases. The special focus is on districts with high number of COVID-19 patients.

8. Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced extension of the restrictions in the state till June 10.

Centre approves financial assistance to 67 families of the journalists who lost their lives to Covid-19 : Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and Press Information Bureau under the guidance of Hon’ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Sh. Prakash Javadekar, had compiled and collated the details of journalists.

The process of lifting the lockdown amid a decline in COVID 19 cases in the national capital is expected to be discussed at a crucial meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) scheduled on Friday.* Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who is vice chairman of the panel, will attend the meeting.

11. Three red ticks on WhatsApp? No, government is not recording your messages, calls :
A new fake message says once the new communication rules are implemented, all your WhatsApp calls will be recorded and your social media accounts will also be monitored. All these messages are fake and WhatsApp users are advised to not forward them to everyone.

12. The messaging app is end-to-end encrypted, so only the sender and the receiver can access any message they have exchanged. All your chats, photos, videos, voice messages, documents, status updates and calls can’t be accessed by WhatsApp, Facebook, or the government. Only you or the person you are communicating with can check chats.

13. It is important to note that WhatsApp has not implemented any new communication rules and there is no such feature as three red tick or three blue ticks. As of now, when a user sends a message, you get one tick, which means the message has been sent, and two ticks mean the message has been delivered. If there are two blue ticks, then it means that the message has been read by the receiver.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday launched the Services e-Health Assistance and Tele-consultation (SeHAT) portal, which will provide tele-medicine services to serving military personnel, veterans and their families. “This is the final version of the SeHAT OPD portal with advanced safety features.

17. Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General C P Mohanty carried out a comprehensive review of India’s military preparedness in eastern Ladakh* on the first day of his three-day visit to the region where Indian and Chinese troops have been locked in a bitter standoff for over a year.

8. *Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne has said that fugitive diamantaire Mehul Choksi, who has been found in Dominica, will be repatriated to India and Indian authorities* are in touch with those in Dominica. He also said Dominica had agreed to Choksi’s repatriation and Antigua would not accept him back.

9. Mehul Chinubhai Choksi is a fugitive Indian businessman, residing in Antigua and Barbuda, who is wanted by the Indian judicial authorities for criminal conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, cheating and dishonesty including delivery of property, corruption and money laundering.

1. The Government of Bangladesh has taken a decision to reopen the primary, secondary and higher secondary educational institutions on 13th of June, if COVID-19 situation gets better.
