7. The Centre Clears Urban Flood Management Projects Worth ₹2,514.36 cr of 5 States. The High-Level Committee approved six project proposals in the states of Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, West Bengal and Maharashtra.

8. The Civil Aviation Ministry revealed it has received requests from 10 state governments proposing the renaming of 22 airports. In a written response to the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol explained that airports are generally named after the city in which they are located.

2. A 10-year-old boy was injured on Saturday in the explosion of a pressure IED planted by Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

A woman Maoist booked for a murder and an attack on security forces and carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh surrendered before the police and CRPF in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district on Saturday, Rina Narote, alias Lalita, was a commander of the ‘Tailor Team’ and was responsible for logistics in the entire Gadchiroli Division of the CPI-Maoist.

1. In Maharashtra, at least three people were killed and two injured after a two-storey building collapsed in the Belapur area of Navi Mumbai.

2. A student was found dead and two others were missing after the basement of a building housing a popular civil service coaching centre was flooded following heavy rain in central Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar area on Saturday.

According to the Delhi Fire Department, a call about waterlogging was received from the Rau’s IAS Study Circle at about 7 pm.

1. In Jammu and Kashmir, a group of two to three terrorists crossed the Line of Control in Machhal Sector of Kupwara district and opened fire on a forward Army post from close range. The alert troops responded decisively, resulting in the death of one Pakistani intruder and recovery of weapons and ammunition.

2. The Pakistan Navy has commissioned its first Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 2600, named PNS HUNAIN, at Constanta Port in Romania. This vessel is the third OPV in the overall project.

3. The Department of Posts has issued a commemorative stamp marking the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Released at Dras, Ladakh, the stamp honors the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers.

4. On July 27, 1939, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was established as the Crown Representatives Police in response to political turmoil within princely states. It has since evolved into a key central paramilitary force of India, playing a critical role in maintaining internal security. The force was renamed the Central Reserve Police Force on December 28, 1949, following a legislative act, and now operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
