15. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced a major collaboration with Google to display authorized Aadhaar Centres on Google Maps. This announcement came on the 26th February 2026. This initiative aims to help residents across India easily locate verified Aadhaar Centres and access essential Aadhaar services without confusion.

1. The Centre has appointed former Supreme Court judge Justice Balbir Singh Chauhan as the new Chairperson of the Commission of Inquiry investigating the violence in Manipur.

2. The Supreme Court mandates publication of West Bengal’s incomplete voter list. The list will also contain the names of the voters whose credentials were verified by the judiciary engaged in the SIR process on the order of the Supreme Court. The draft list will contain the names of 7 crores 8 lakh voters, which will also remain in the final list.

3. A special court on Friday (February 27, 2026) discharged Aam Admi party chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia, and 21 others in the politically charged liquor policy case.

4. Telangana Police has launched “Operation Crackdown”, a statewide drive aimed at dismantling organised cybercrime networks and curbing financial fraud. The initiative is being spearheaded by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in coordination with district police units and commissionerates.

5. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday grilled Reliance Group chairman Anil Ambani for over nine hours during the second round of questioning in connection with an alleged bank fraud-linked money laundering case related to his group firm RCOM.

1. The Indian Navy yesterday inducted Anjadip, the fourth Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC). The vessel was commissioned in the presence of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi at Chennai Port.

The Indian Navy said that the indigenously built vessel, the 77-metre Dolphin Hunter, is equipped with advanced lightweight torpedoes, Anti-Submarine Warfare rockets, hull-mounted sonar and a high-speed water-jet propulsion system.

2. Punjab Governor and Administrator of Union Territory of Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, has approved 20 per cent horizontal reservation to ex-Agniveers in direct recruitment to the post of Jail Warder (Group C) in the Prisons Department of Chandigarh.

3. Different coordination meetings are being held between SSB India and APF Nepal at the centre, province and district levels in view of the upcoming election in Nepal. A DIG-level coordination meeting between the Armed Police Force Nepal and India’s Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) was held at Champawat of Uttarakhand in India to control possible illegal entry of people at border areas.

4. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu on Friday became the first Indian President to undertake a sortie in an attack helicopter, flying in the indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand near the India–Pakistan border in Rajasthan. The 25-minute flight took place from the Jaisalmer Air Force Station, marking another milestone in her engagement with frontline military platforms as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

5. The Jammu and Kashmir Police have unveiled a newly formed elite squad named ‘Snow Leopard’. It is a specialised high-altitude unit designed for extreme terrain and mountain security challenges to conduct anti-terror operations in the Union Territory. The squad has made an operational debut after being deployed at the ongoing Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg at heights of nearly 14,000 feet.

6. Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi flagged off the culmination ceremony of the Bharat RannBhoomi Darshan (D2D) Expedition at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. It marked the conclusion of a 22-day journey, covering around 3 thousand 4 hundred kilometres.

The expedition, which began on the 3rd of this month from Dwarka, was led by the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Border Security Force.

7. The Bengal Engineer Group & Centre (BEG & Centre), Roorkee has been awarded the GOC-in-C Central Command Unit Citation during the Central Command Investiture Ceremony held at Dehradun, marking a significant recognition of its exemplary contributions to the Indian Army.

8. Major Maroof Raza, a distinguished retired officer of the Indian Army and a prominent commentator on strategic affairs, particularly Indo-Pak relations, has passed away. His demise marks the end of an era for India’s defence journalism, where he was revered for his insightful analyses and dignified presence in media discussions.
