1. The first day of hearings under West Bengal’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll concluded smoothly today. The hearings began at 10 a.m. under the strict supervision of 4,600 micro observers.

Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) are conducting the process, with one ERO and 10 AEROs overseeing hearings in each Assembly constituency.

2. The Karnataka government has decided to submit a request to the central government to formulate national guidelines regarding night-time vehicular movement. In the backdrop of the recent horrific bus accident that occurred near Hiriyur in Chitradurga district, the state government has resolved to urge the central government to frame strict national guidelines for vehicle movement during night hours.

3. Delhi Police has arrested over 280 accused under the Excise Act, Arms Act, NDPS Act, and Gambling Act as part of Operation Aaghat 3.0.

4. India has launched its first national weapon database to curb terrorism and organized crime. The NIA-led ‘Lost, Looted and Recovered Firearm’ database will help police trace stolen government weapons and strengthen internal security nationwide.

Indian Navy to Order 300 MRSAM Missiles to Boost Warship Air Defence: Bharat Dynamics Limited secured a 29.6 billion rupee ($340 million) contract to deliver over 70 Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles to the Indian Navy, with these Indo-Israeli Barak 8 systems capable of neutralizing aerial targets at ranges up to 70 kilometers and set to be deployed on future warships.

4. The Indian Army and Assam Rifles (AR) carried out a joint helicopter-borne troop insertion exercise in the strategically important Vijaynagar salient in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at testing rapid deployment capability and improving operational preparedness in difficult and remote terrain.
