1. Rainfall with thunderstorm predicted in several states during next 5 days. It is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh during next 5 days, according to IMD. It is also likely over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

1. During the ongoing hearings of pleas seeking recognition of same-sex marriage, a Constitution Bench, headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta if social benefits could be extended to same-sex couples without conferring legal recognition on their marital status.

The top court said recognition does not necessarily mean marriage, and asked whether certain social benefits could be extended to same-sex couples who are not formally married, but are living together for a long time.

5. Indian Navy to acquire US Harpoon & Russian Kalibr Missiles: The Harpoon missile and the Kalibr missile have similarities in their capabilities and differences in their specifications.

The Harpoon missile has an operational range of 75 nmi (139 km) when ship-launched (Block I & Block IC) and 120 nmi (220 km) when air-launched (Block IC). The Kalibr missile’s operational range varies based on the variant, ranging from 50 km to 4,500 km.
