Chandrachud, asked Solicitor General Tushar Mehta if social benefits could be extended to same-sex couples without conferring legal recognition on their marital status.
The top court said recognition does not necessarily mean marriage, and asked whether certain social benefits could be extended to same-sex couples who are not formally married, but are living together for a long time.

The Harpoon missile has an operational range of 75 nmi (139 km) when ship-launched (Block I & Block IC) and 120 nmi (220 km) when air-launched (Block IC). The Kalibr missile’s operational range varies based on the variant, ranging from 50 km to 4,500 km.
