1. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has appointed 24 Judges in the Allahabad High Court. Among them are Senior Advocates Vivek Saran, Garima Prashad and Sudhanshu Chauhan. Besides, two Judges have been appointed in the Himachal Pradesh High Court, while one permanent Judge and three Additional Judges were appointed in the Karnataka High Court.

2. The second Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Young Authors’ Conference culminated yesterday in New Delhi with a meaningful dialogue on Creativity in the Digital Age. The two-day conference was organised by the Ministry of Education in association with the Ministry of External Affairs.

3. PM Modi yesterday launched Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through video conferencing from New Delhi.

10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 11th anniversary of the Make in India initiative, celebrating its role in driving economic growth, fostering entrepreneurship, boosting innovation, creating jobs, and laying the foundation for Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance).

India’s first fleet of electric heavy trucks with swappable batteries was flagged off at Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) by Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, marking a major push toward sustainable logistics. JNPA aims to convert 90% of its 600-truck fleet to EVs by 2026, making it the largest EV truck fleet in any Indian port.

12. TTD has launched India’s first AI-powered Integrated Command & Control Centre (ICCC) at Tirumala for efficient pilgrim management and safety. Inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the ICCC offers real-time queue analytics, density maps, facial recognition, drone-assisted emergency response, and 3D congestion mapping.

13. India has nominated IIT-Madras as a UN Centre of Excellence (COE) for Artificial Intelligence (AI) capacity building and skilling under the UN Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET) initiative. Announced by MeitY Secretary S Krishnan at the UN General Assembly, this move supports the Global South in closing the AI capacity gap.

14. The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released the fourth edition of “Children in India 2025”, presenting comprehensive data on the status of children in India.

Key highlights include a significant decline in Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) from 44 in 2011 to 25 in 2023, a drop in dropout rates from 13.8% in 2022-23 to 8.2% in 2024-25, and a reduction in the percentage of women marrying before 18 years from 26.8% (2015-16) to 23.3% (2019-21).

Khalistani terrorist Inderjeet Singh Gosal, linked to the proscribed group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), was released on bail from Ontario’s Central East Correctional Centre within a week of his arrest on firearms-related charges.Shortly after his release, he appeared in a video declaring his intent to support SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in organizing the Khalistan referendum.

1. The Tamil Nadu government has announced the Kalaimamani Awards for 2021-23, honoring around 90 artistes excelling in literature, music, dance, theatre, cinema, and traditional arts.

Notable recipients include actors Sai Pallavi, S.J. Suryah, Vikram Prabhu, music director Anirudh Ravichander, and veteran singer K.J. Yesudas (M.S. Subbulakshmi Award). The awards ceremony, presided over by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, will take place in Chennai this October

1. After six decades of service as a legendary fighter aircraft of Indian Air Force, the MiG-21 was given a final farewell yesterday. The farewell ceremony, held at Chandigarh Air Base, was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Air Force Chief Air Marshal AP Singh, and other dignitaries.

2. The Government is hosting a visit of National Flag Quiz winners to the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen, from the 28th of this month. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in a statement, said that during the visit, 25 young people will get an opportunity to spend 72 hours with the Indian Army. The visit will offer students an opportunity to experience leadership, resilience, and nation-building at one of the most challenging frontiers of the country.

3. India is on track to finalise a landmark $1 billion agreement with US aerospace giant General Electric (GE) for 113 F404-IN20 fighter jet engines. The deal, expected to be signed in October, will power the Indian Air Force’s planned fleet of TEJAS MK-1A aircraft.

4. Hyderabad-based T-Works, India’s largest hardware prototyping centre, is stepping into the high-technology defence sector with the development and manufacturing of advanced flight simulators for fighter aircraft.

5. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is reviving two defunct Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) located close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, at Chushul in eastern Ladakh and Anini in far-east Arunachal Pradesh.These initiatives are part of the Indian Air Force’s future roadmap to bolster forward airpower capabilities near the sensitive border areas.

6. India successfully test-fired the Agni-Prime intermediate-range ballistic missile from a rail-based mobile launcher, showcasing the nation’s cutting-edge missile deployment capabilities.
The test, conducted by DRDO and Strategic Forces Command, makes India one of the few countries with the ability to launch from a moving rail platform.
