1. PM Modi yesterday dedicated to the nation, three PARAM Rudra Supercomputers in Pune through video conferencing to facilitate pioneering scientific research. The three supercomputers, worth around 130 crore rupees, have been developed indigenously under the National Supercomputing Mission and deployed in Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata.
2. In Jammu and Kashmir, the final phase of assembly elections is set to be crucial for all political parties. Polling in the Union Territory in this phase for 40 Assembly constituencies will be held on Tuesday. Counting of votes for assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana will take place on 8th of October.
3. The Food and Public Distribution Minister Pralhad Joshi today said the country has achieved its highest-ever ethanol production, reaching 1,633 crore litres from around 250 ethanol distilleries. Inaugurating the two-day India Sugar and Bio-Energy conference in New Delhi.
4. The central government has announced an increase in minimum wage rates by revising the Variable Dearness Allowance. The new wage rates will take effect from the 1st of next month. The revised wages are intended to help workers, particularly those in the unorganised sector.
For unskilled work it will be 783 rupees a day.
For semi-skilled workers, the minimum wage will be 868 rupees a day,
For skilled, clerical, the minimum wage will be 954 rupees a day.
For highly skilled workers, the revised wage will be 1,035 rupees a day.
5. The Telangana government has issued orders for sanctioning the creation of 169 posts under various categories to be filled on deputation basis for the Hyderabad Disaster Response Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA).
6. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has asked the States and Union Territories to undertake appropriate measures to spread awareness among the public about the Monkeypox disease.
7. In response to rising air pollution in Delhi, Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena has launched the ‘Dust-free Delhi’ initiative. This effort aims to reduce pollution levels, especially before the winter season when the air quality usually worsens.
8. The 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah has witnessed over nine crore sixty eight lakh events held nationwide so far. The annual nutrition and welfare campaign has registered nearly one crore eighty-eight lakh events under Anemia Prevention, one crore sixty-eight lakh events focused on growth monitoring and nearly one crore forty-five lakh events under complementary feeding.
9. The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Campaign has achieved nationwide success in afforestation, with Uttar Pradesh leading the way by planting around 26 crore saplings and Rajasthan surpassing its targets by 2.5 times through community engagement.
10. Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, alongside Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, launched the India-specific fashion trend book “Paridhi 24×25,” a bilingual web portal of VisioNxt, and an AI Taxonomy e-book. This significant event attracted over 150 industry leaders from the fashion, textiles, and retail sectors.
11. The Mankidia community became the 6th particularly vulnerable tribal group (PVTG) PVTG to get habitat rights over forests in Odisha.The Mankidia are a semi-nomadic community known for their traditional skill of rope making, trapping and eating monkeys.
12. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert over parts of Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, Gujarat, Sikkim, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. The IMD has also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Saurashtra, Kutch, and Arunachal Pradesh.

1. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a key accused in the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA-I) case related to the planting of improvised explosive devices across multiple locations in Assam. In a statement, NIA said that the accused, Gautam Barua, was nabbed from the outskirts of Bengaluru, where he was hiding.
2. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has instructed all Internet Access Providers to block any traffic containing links that have not been whitelisted to curb the misuse of Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) in messages. The TRAI said that so far, over 3,000 registered senders have complied with this requirement by whitelisting more than 70,000 links.
3. The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets as part of its ongoing money laundering investigation against YouTuber Siddharth Yadav alias Elvish Yadav and some others.
Elvish Yadav was arrested on March 17 by the Noida police in connection with its probe into suspected use of snake venom as a recreational drug in parties that were allegedly hosted by him.

The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a plea filed by the Gujarat government seeking a review of the court’s verdict which contained certain observations against the state while quashing the remission granted to 11 men convicted of raping Bilkis Bano and murdering seven of her family members during the 2002 riots.
5. A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences court in Yupia in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday sentenced a man to death for sexually assaulting 21 children, including 15 girls, at a residential school.
The prime accused, Yumken Bagra, was the warden of the hostel at Karo Government Residential School in Shi-Yomi district, where he sexually assaulted 21 children, including 15 girls, aged between 6 and 15 years, between 2019 and 2022.
6. The Karnataka State Cabinet has decided to withdraw its consent for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct inquiries within the state.
7. The Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to former Tamil Nadu minister V Senthil Balaji in a money laundering case after over 15 months, and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam strongman who walked out of a prison in Chennai vowed to legally fight the ‘false case’ that was ‘foisted’ on him due to ‘political vendetta’.
8. Delhi high court on Thursday asked the Centre to expeditiously decide a representation seeking to use the “proper meaning” of the term “religion” and not use it as a synonym of dharma in official documents.
9. Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to give up arms and come forward for talks with the government, while reiterating that there will be no dialogue or cross-border trade with Pakistan.
10. The Supreme Court on Thursday said it will hear on January 15 the appeals filed by the Gujarat government and several other convicts in the 2002 Godhra train burning case.
On 27 February 2002, 59 people were killed when the S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express was burnt at Gujarat’s Godhra, triggering riots in the state.

1. Two years after the award-winning ‘RRR’, Junior NTR is back with his latest movie ‘ DEVARA: PART 1’, directed by Koratala Siva.
DEVARA: PART 1 theatrical release is on 27 September 2024 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada languages. It is an epic action tale movie set in the 1980s and 1990s around Devara, a courageous man from a coastal village.
The movie has Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor in the female lead. Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Narain, Ajay and others are in the cast. Kollywood’s top musician Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music.

1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu visit Siachen Glacier: President praised the bravery and dedication of soldiers who are protecting the nation under the harshest climatic conditions. Speaking at the Siachen Base Camp in Ladakh, the President also expressed deep gratitude to the families of the soldiers serving in such extreme environments.
2. Ace fighter pilot Air Marshal SP Dharkar has been appointed as the next Vice Chief of Air Staff. He would be succeeding incumbent Air Marshal AP Singh, who has been designated as the next Chief of Air Staff.
3. DRDO’s Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE) in Gwalior has developed a Ship Installed Chemical Agent Detection System (SICADS) in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro (L&T). This system is designed to detect chemical warfare agents as well as selected toxic industrial chemicals, enhancing the safety and operational capabilities of naval vessels.
4. The Indian Army evacuated an injured soldier from the Golan Heights, where he was serving under the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).
The evacuation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Anuj Singh, was carried out on Thursday using a C-130 Air Ambulance and was supported by the Indian Air Force.
5. Indian Navy has inducted LSAM 13 missile cum ammunition barge to its fleet which is the fifth such barge made for the Indian Navy.“The delivery of ‘Missile Cum Ammunition Barge, LSAM 13 (Yard 81) is the fifth Barge of 08 x Missile Cum Ammunition Barge project.
6. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), is on a four day official visit to Greece from 26 to 29 Sep 24. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to further consolidate bilateral defence relations between India and Greece, with a focus on enhancing Naval Cooperation.
