12. *JHARKHAND*: Security forces shot dead three Naxalites, who belonged to Tritiya Prastuti Committee, at a forest in Jharkhand’s Latehar district on Saturday morning, police said. According to an official, the Naxalites had opened fire at the police party, following which police retaliated in self-defence. Police have also recovered a self-loading rifle, cartridges and ammunition storage devices from the spot.

17. *WEST BENGAL* : Around 40 crude bombs were recovered from Margram near Rampurhat in West Bengal’s Birbhum district by police on Saturday. “The crude bombs were concealed in four buckets and kept in the back of an under-construction house,” police said. This comes after eight people were killed in the Rampurhat area earlier this week after a mob allegedly set houses on fire.

Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, the film has already brought a ‘tsunami’ at the ticket windows. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film broke the previous record for the biggest first-day opening (set by Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Conclusion) and made Rs 223 crore worldwide on day one of release. In India, the film made Rs 156 crore, and it added another Rs 42 crore from the US and Canada. By comparison, Baahubali 2 had made Rs 217 crore worldwide on its opening day.

DRDO has established 10 Centres of Excellence in collaboration with various academia institutes all over the country to develop critical technology for enabling futuristic requirements of Armed Forces.

The 210-km Manali-Sarchu road, which is generally opened in the last week of April, was reopened by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Saturday, the Defence Ministry said. ”The opening of the…road was premised on the successful conduct of snow clearance operations over one of the highest passes of the Zanskar Range, the formidable Baralacha La Pass,” the ministry added.
