1. PURI RATH YATRA 2025 : Jagannath Yatra 2025 will begin today on June 27, 2025, and conclude on July 5, 2025. Festival spans over nine days, during which various important rituals take place, culminating in the return journey of the deities to the Jagannath Temple.Three divinities are worshipped on the festival day. They include Swamy Balabhadra, who is the elder brother of Swamy Jagannath; Subhadra and Swamy Jagannath.
2. Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla delivered his first message from the International Space Station (ISS) on Thursday, calling it a “privileged moment” to represent India in space. Speaking shortly after docking as part of the Axiom-4 crew, Shukla said he was “privileged to see Earth from this vantage point”.
3. Jammu & Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting with political leaders at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar and discussed the preparations for Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to begin from July 3.
4. Former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) S Somanath has taken on the role of Honorary Chief Technical Advisor at Skyroot Aerospace, country’s leading private rocket developer.
*Somanath will advise Skyroot as the city-based startup prepares for the launch of its Vikram-1 launch vehicle, India’s first privately developed launch vehicle capable of deploying satellites in Earth’s orbit.
5. Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, along with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, laid the foundation stone for the prestigious Akhanda Godavari Tourism Project near Pushkar Ghat in Rajamahendravaram.
6. Marking a historic moment in wildlife conservation, Kerala has established the Aralam Butterfly Sanctuary by renaming the existing Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary. Located in the biodiverse-rich Western Ghats, the sanctuary is now India’s first forest area exclusively reserved for butterflies.
7. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, flagged off the Gwalior-Bengaluru express train. The train will run from Gwalior on every Friday and from Bengaluru on Sunday. The regular service will begin from Bengaluru on 29th June and from Gwalior on 4th July.
8. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, B L Verma said that over 14 crore people across the country have joined the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan so far.
9. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reviewed and directed the finalisation of the Andhra Pradesh Space Policy 4.0 at a meeting held at Amaravati.

5. In Chhattisgarh, two female Maoists have been killed in an encounter with security forces. The encounter took place in the forests of Aboojhmaad area of Narayanpur district.
6. In Bihar, the state police are going to establish a specialized and dedicated unit on the line of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as cases of drug abuse, addiction and illicit trafficking are witnessing rise.

1. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will deliver at least six Tejas MK1A fighter jets to the Air Force by March 2026, after delays mainly due to late engine deliveries from the US.
2. A Delhi-based BSS Alliance has unveiled a tactical drone equipped with an AK-203 rifle, enhancing precision and flexibility for operators.
3. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to receive at least six Tejas light combat aircraft by March 2026, as confirmed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) chairman and managing director D K Sunil.
4. The Aeronautical Development Agency has refined the AMCA’s internal bay design, allowing it to carry six Astra Mk2 air-to-air missiles internally, up from four.
5. Turkey’s Stealth UCAV Anka-3 crashed
during International Anatolian Eagle Exercises: One of the two flying prototypes of Turkey’s Anka-3 stealth drone crashed at an airbase in central Turkey during international exercises.
