1. Voting for second phase of Assembly elections in 26 segments concludes peacefully in Jammu & Kashmir.

3. PM Modi will dedicate three supercomputers to the nation today in Pune. Named PARAM Rudra Supercomputers, these are worth around Rs 130 crore, developed indigenously under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).
These supercomputers have been deployed in Pune, Delhi and Kolkata and will advance India’s research and development efforts in the fields of astronomy, atomic physics, etc.
5. The Centre has declared 1.84 lakh hectares area surrounding the Gir Protected Area as an Eco Sensitive Zone (ESZ) in Gujrat. This initiative will balance the conservation of the Asiatic lions’ at Gir-the only natural abode of Asiatic lions with sustainable development.
6. The Delhi government has decided to increase minimum wages of unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled workers. The minimum wage of unskilled workers will be over 18 thousand rupees per month, semi-skilled workers will be 19 thousand 929 rupees and skilled workers will be 21 thousand 917 rupees per month. Addressing a press conference, Chief Minister Atishi said, the new wage rates will be applicable from the 1st of October.
7. Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut on Wednesday withdrew her remarks calling for bringing back the three farm laws that were repealed in 2021, and said those were her personal opinion and not the party’s.

After a long hiatus, heavy rains returned to lash Mumbai and suburbs on Wednesday, inundating low-lying areas, stopping local trains on tracks between Kurla and Thane stations and stranding passengers even as traffic crawled on roads. Schools and colleges in Mumbai and its suburbs will remain shut on Thursday amid a red alert for heavy rains.

13. Mizoram, Chief Minister Lalduhoma officially launched the state’s new flagship initiative, the Hand Holding Scheme (Bana Kaih), during a ceremony held at Vanapa Hall. The scheme is designed to provide financial assistance and support to entrepreneurs and farmers across the state.
14. Andhrapradesh, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has deposited a sum of Rs 602 crore as flood relief to about four lakh people affected by the recent Budameru floods.

To improve food safety at one of India’s most revered pilgrimage sites, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is considering the establishment of a state-of-the-art laboratory in Tirumala. The proposed facility aims to test the quality of raw materials procured by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
16. Telangana, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered constitution of Indiramma committees across various levels by the ensuing Dasara. These committees will play a key role in selection of beneficiaries for the Indiramma Housing scheme. They will also oversee the effective implementation of the Congress government’s ‘six guarantees’ and other welfare schemes in order to ensure that they reach the deserving beneficiaries.

1. A special Court has ordered a Lokayukta police probe against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority MUDA site allotment case in Bengaluru.
2. Two OBC activists Laxman Hake and Navnath Waghmare on Wednesday suspended their week-long fast which they had undertaken in Jalna to “safeguard” quota for the Other Backward Classes, hours after Maratha quota agitator Manoj Jarange called off his indefinite hunger strike.

4. Amid a row over the alleged adulteration of laddus made in Tirupati Venkateswara temple, a complaint was filed before a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday against the temple trust members for “hurting religious sentiments of Hindus”.
A major controversy has erupted over the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati laddus, with the Andhra Pradesh government forming an SIT to probe the matter.

6. The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered “forthwith” release of well-known YouTuber Savukku Shankar who was detained just after his release under the Tamil Nadu Goondas Act.
Shankar (48) was arrested by the Coimbatore police from southern Theni on May 4 for alleged derogatory statements about women police personnel and some Madras high court judges in an interview on the YouTube channel ‘RedPix 24×7’ on 30 April.
7. Mukti Pratap Ray, the prime suspect in the recent brutal murder of Bengaluru resident Mahalaxmi, was found dead by suicide at a burial ground in his native Kuleipada village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Wednesday evening.

1. The Karnataka state govt is planning to unveil an independent space policy during the quarter ending December 2024, with special focus on startups and micro, small and medium enterprises.
2. The total food grain production in the country during 2023-24 is estimated at record over three thousand 322 lakh metric tonnes which is 26 lakh metric tonnes higher, compared to 2022-23. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has released final estimates of production of major agricultural crops for the year 2023-24.
3. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held separate meetings with the newly formed Stakeholders Advisory Committee on Telecom Sector Original Equipment Manufacturers, Telecom Service Providers And Tele-Electronic Eco-System in New Delhi.
The meetings focused on making India a hub for telecom product manufacturing and improving the ease of doing business.
4. The latest annual Periodic Labour Force Survey released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation indicates a significant decline in the country’s unemployment rate over the past year with states like Haryana showing remarkable progress.
According to the report, the national average unemployment rate is 3.2 per cent in 2023-24, a decrease from 5.1 per cent compared to last year 2022-23.
5. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Rubber Research Institute of India (RRII) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to enhance the research on using Rubber Process Oils marketed by IOCL in different tyre and non-tyre rubber products. Aim & Objective This collaboration aims to improve product performance and rubber processing across these applications.

2. Tamil actor Karthi has issued a public apology to Telugu actor and politician Pawan Kalyan following backlash over his remarks regarding the Tirupati laddoo row. The controversy erupted after Karthi made a light-hearted comment at an event in Hyderabad, which did not sit well with Pawan Kalyan, especially considering the cultural sensitivity surrounding the issue.

3. Indian Army is set to receive its first three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters from Boeing in December 2024, after a delay of more than six months caused by supply chain problems. The helicopters were originally expected to be delivered between May and July.
India signed a deal with Boeing for six Apaches, for the Army, at a cost of around $800 million in February 2020. As part of the deal, six pilots and 24 technicians were trained by Boeing in the U.S.
4. As the government looks at rolling out the ambitious theaterisation model, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday said it will streamline joint operations across the three services and improve India’s ability to respond swiftly to any contingency.
5. The fifth edition of Goa Maritime Symposium (GMS) 2024 was hosted by the Indian Navy from 23-24 September 24 under the aegis of Naval War College, Goa. This edition of the Goa Maritime Symposium was conducted in the newly inaugurated, state-of-the-art Chola building of the Naval War College.
6. India will host the 28th edition of the annual Malabar Naval Exercise in October : The Malabar Naval Exercise, set to be held in October in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to focus on maritime cooperation and security in response to China’s growing assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.
