13. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall over several parts of Telangana from October 27 to 29, as the current depression over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm.
The depression over South east Bay of Bengal lay centered over the same region and has moved 950 kilometers east southeast of Chennai and 960 kilometers southeast of Vishakakapatnam and 970 kilometers southeast of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. It is likely to intensify into a deep depression today and move Northwestwards and turn into a severe cyclonic storm by morning of 28th October.

1. Over 40 passengers had a narrow escape as a moving bus caught fire in Ranchi on Saturday evening. The incident happened on the Ranchi-Lohardaga highway when the bus was heading to Chatra from the state capital. “There were nearly 45 passengers on the bus, which suddenly caught fire near Mandar Bazar,”

Just a day after a private bus fire charred to death several passengers in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool, another mishap involving a private bus was reported on the outskirts of Hyderabad Saturday afternoon. no casualty reported. The bus was carrying six passengers, two drivers, and a conductor at the time of the accident.

1. The second edition of the biannual Naval Commanders’ Conference 2025 concluded yesterday in New Delhi. The three day conference which began on the 22nd of this month, served as a vital forum for the Naval Commanders to deliberate on issues of operational preparedness, maritime security, capability development, and Tri-Service integration.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated a series of key digital and welfare initiatives during the Army Commanders’ Conference ACC at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, reinforcing the Indian Army’s vision of a Decade of Transformation. Among the key initiatives, Mr. Singh inaugurated the Edge Data Centres for the Konark and Fire & Fury Corps, marking a major step in strengthening the Army’s digital infrastructure.
3. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) achieved another milestone in bolstering India’s maritime security with the launch of two advanced Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) — ICGS Ajit and ICGS Aparajit — at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) on Friday.
