Centre to launch new Rs 75 coin to mark new Parliament inauguration.
Ministry of Finance to launch a special Rs 75 coin to commemorate the inauguration of the new Parliament building on 28th May. The commemorative coin will also serve as a tribute to India celebrating 75 years of independence.
The Rs 75 coin will bear the inscription Parliament Complex and the image of the new Parliament building. One side of the coin will feature the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar , with the words “Satyamev Jayate” below it.

1. President Droupadi Murmu interacted with the tribal women Self Help Groups (SHGs) at Khunti, Jharkhand in a conference organised by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

2. Renovation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s official residence incurred a total cost of Rs 52.71 crore, according to a ‘factual report’ submitted by the Delhi government’s Vigilance Directorate to the lieutenant governor.

1. A man suspected of orchestrating the killings of over 2,000 people during the 1994 Rwanda genocide was arrested in South Africa on Wednesday after being on the run for several years. The man, Fulgence Kayishema, had since assumed a false identity. Over 8 lakh people died in the genocide wherein members of the Hutu ethnic group targeted minority Tutsis.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called upon industry leaders to come up with innovative solutions to help India become a ‘leader’ from an ‘imitator’ in futuristic technologies.

2. Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX), a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Defence, has reached a milestone with the signing of its 250th contract. This was also the first contract signed under Mission DefSpace, the ministry said in a statement.

3. For the first time, the MiG-29K fighter aircraft undertook night landing on indigenously-built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, a feat described by the Indian Navy as a ‘historic milestone’.
