For offences under Section 121 of IPC, court awarded him life imprisonment and ₹10,000 fine. He also received jail term of 10 years and ₹10,000 fine each for violating Sections 120B, 121A of IPC, Sections 18, 20 of UAPA.

1. The third edition of the Indian Navy- Bangladesh Navy bilateral exercise ‘Bongosagar’ bagan at the Mongla port in Bangladesh on Tuesday, May 24.
The harbour phase of the exercise is scheduled from 24-25 May. It will be followed by the Sea Phase in the Northern Bay of Bengal from May 26-27

Thirty years after India began inducting women as officers in the armed forces, Captain Abhilasha Barak on 25 May, Wednesday became the first woman to join the Army Aviation Corps as a helicopter pilot after completing a year-long course at the Combat Army Aviation Training School at Nashik in Maharashtra
Captain Abhilasha Barak, the 26-year-old from Haryana became the first woman combat aviator of the Indian Army. Captain Barak graduated at a ceremony held at the Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik.
3. The govt has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a national hospital ship (NHS) for the Navy that will act as a floating 250-bed hospital in the high seas.
According to the RFI, issued on May 18 , the hospital ship — the first such for Indian Navy — will have aerial evacuation and boat ambulance facilities and should have the capacity to carry 600 personnel on board, including the crew, doctors and patients.

The wife of Air Force officer Ravi Khanna, martyred in a terror attack allegedly carried out by Jammu and Kashmir separatist leader Yasin Malik, said she wasn’t satisfied with life imprisonment awarded to him. “I want…death penalty for him in my case,” said Nirmal Khanna. A Delhi court has sentenced Malik to life imprisonment in a 2017 terror funding case.
