1. India has developed its first indigenous Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine, set to be installed at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, by October for trials.
2. The tenure of the Joint Committee of Parliament on ‘One Nation, One Election’ has been extended up to the first day of the last week of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. A motion in this regard was moved by the Chairman of the Committee PP Chaudhary in the Lok Sabha.
3. The Parliament has passed the Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill 2024 with Rajya Sabha approving it yesterday. The Lok Sabha had passed it in December last year. It aims to enhance disaster preparedness, response and recovery across the country. The Bill amends the Disaster Management Act, 2005 .
4. The Parliament also passed the Boilers Bill, 2024 with the Lok Sabha approving it. The Bill repeals the Boilers Act, 1923 and seeks to provide for the regulation of boilers and safety of life and property of persons from the danger of explosions of steamboilers.
5. The Lok Sabha has passed the Finance Bill, 2025, incorporating 35 government amendments aimed at tariff rationalisation and boosting domestic manufacturing. The Bill seeks to give effect to the financial proposals of the Central Government for the financial year 2025-2026.
6. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that this year’s Delhi Budget has seen a 31.58 per cent increase from the previous year, with a total allocation of one lakh crore rupees.
7. Gujarat will become the second state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) after Uttarakhand. Addressing the state assembly, State Law Minister Rushikesh Patel said this is a step towards ensuring equal justice for all the people of the state and realising the concept of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
8. In Odisha Legislative Assembly, 12 of the 14 Congress MLAs were suspended yesterday for alleged misconduct and violation of Assembly norms. The Congress MLAs have been barred from attending House proceedings for seven days.
9. The Nagaland government will set up a Solar Mission Team at the Directorate level and a Solar Mission Cell at the Secretariat level to oversee the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

11. The Centre has approved two development projects for Punjab, aimed at honoring the sacrifices of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, at Khatkar Kalan and Hussainiwala in Ferozepur, where the trio was cremated.
12. The Indian parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals and Fertilizers has raised concerns regarding the fertiliser subsidy system. The committee, led by MP Kirti Azad, has recommended that the Union Fertilizers Ministry secure additional funding to support farmers.
13. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the development of corridors along the sacred Ganga and Sharda rivers to enhance religious tourism in the state. The initiative aims to improve infrastructure and facilities for pilgrims while preserving the state’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
14. Kerala has become the first state in India to establish a Senior Citizens Commission by passing the Kerala State Senior Citizens Commission Bill, 2025. This statutory body aims to safeguard the rights and welfare of elderly citizens and act as an advisory body for policymaking. The initiative underscores Kerala’s commitment to ensuring the protection, rehabilitation, and empowerment of senior citizens.
15. Telangana Government take steps to remove Conocarpus trees planted in large numbers on the main thoroughfares and highways.
The Speaker referred to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government’s assertion on planting over 200 crore saplings as part of the Harita Haaram programme and said Conocarpus saplings constituted significant chunk of this programme. “Conocarpus trees are said to inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide.

2. National Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu and the District Collector of Thoothukudi regarding the assault of a Class XI student. The Commission took suo motu cognisance of a media report stating that the student, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste, was attacked by a group of upper-caste boys while travelling on a bus to appear for his exam.

1. In Jammu and Kashmir, a massive search operation to track down a group of infiltrating terrorists continued for the third day in a forested area in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. The operation, led by DGP, Nalin Prabhat, was launched on Sunday evening in the Saryal village of Hiranagar sector following an encounter between security forces and terrorists hiding in a nursery.
2. The Indian Navy is set to conduct maritime exercise named AIKEYME, aimed at enhancing defence cooperation with several African nations. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, termed MAHASAGAR, promoting security and growth across regions. The exercise will take place off the coast of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, co-hosted by the Indian Navy and the Tanzania Peoples Defence Force.
3. Indian Army has firmly rejected claims circulating on social media that one of its Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) was “hacked” by China.

6. The Sea Dragon 2025 naval exercise, which was held recently is multilateral drill focusing on anti-submarine warfare. It commenced on 4 March 2025, off the coast of Guam, hosted by the United States Navy’s 7th Fleet. This exercise involves key naval forces from the United States, Japan, Australia, and South Korea. It aims to enhance coordination in maritime security operations in the Indo-Pacific region.
