1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall over Western and Central parts of the country for the next few days.

Due to incessant rainfall in Maharashtra, especially Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Kolhapur and Sangli, dams and rivers have overflowed, compelling the opening of dam gates. This has led to flood-like situations in many low-lying areas and regions near the dams.

3. The Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary launched the ‘Model Skill Loan Scheme’ in New Delhi. Murugan and Chief Minister of Mizoram Lalduhoma. The station, Apna Radio 90.0 FM is a station run by Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aizawl.

6. The Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi has said that the total sales of CNG vehicles has increased over the past few years. He said, the total number of vehicles using CNG registered till 22nd of this month is over 72 lakh 10 thousand across the country.

10. The Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government has decided that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will not attend the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27.

1. SJVN Ltd. has announced that it received a Letter of Intent from the Government of Mizoram for the allotment of the Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project. This marks SJVN’s first venture in the state.

1. PM Modi will visit Kargil War Memorial today on the occasion of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas. He will pay homage to the soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the war. The Prime Minister will also carry out virtually, the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel Project.

2. The Indian Army contingent departed for Mongolia for the multinational military exercise Khaan Quest, aimed at enhancing the peacekeeping capabilities of the force. The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from July 27 to August 9 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

The exercise first started as a bilateral event between the US and Mongolian Armed Forces in 2003. Subsequently, from the year 2006 onwards, the exercise graduated to a multinational peacekeeping exercise, with the current year being the 21st iteration, the release stated.
The Indian Army contingent, comprising 40 personnel, is being represented mainly by troops from a battalion of the MADRAS REGIMENT along with personnel from other arms and services.

4. Lieutenant Colonel Barsha Rai, who retired as an Indian Army officer, completed a 160-kilometre run from Srinagar to Drass to observe the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Lt Col Rai, who lives in Siliguri in north Bengal and who has a deep personal connection to the army, undertook this journey not only as a tribute but also to honour the bravery and sacrifices of soldiers who fought in the Kargil War.

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) on Wednesday successfully flight-tested the Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system demonstrating the indigenous capability to defend against ballistic missiles of 5,000 km class. Phase 1 of the BMD, which can intercept ballistic missiles with a range of 2,000 km, has already been deployed.
