The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Vishal Deep, former assistant director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Shimla, and his brother Vikas Deep, a senior manager with Punjab National Bank (PNB), New Delhi. The CBI alleged illicit enrichment of over Rs 93.24 lakh — more than 231 per cent of the former public servant’s known sources of income — within a brief period of 10 months in 2024.
4. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled a hashish oil trafficking network during an operation conducted on Tuesday night. Acting on credible intelligence, a team of NCB officers, with the assistance of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), mounted a targeted operation at Duvvada Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the interception of five individuals, including one woman, and the seizure of four kilograms of hashish oil.

India will take over as a Vice Chair of Kimberley Process, before assuming the chairpersonship from 1st January next year. The Kimberley Process is a tripartite initiative involving governments, the international diamond industry and civil society to prevent the trade in conflict diamonds. 1. The Indian Army has issued an internal letter on use of social media applications by its personnel, with an emphasis on operational security and responsible online behaviour. Sources in the Indian Army said, Army personnel have been allowed to access Instagram only for the purposes of viewing and monitoring. They clarified that no comments or views are to be communicated on the platform.
2. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) have signed an agreement to foster collaboration in the areas of research, education, training, and technology support for defence and internal security.
