1. PM Modi launches development projects related to urban development, Energy, Roads, and Railways worth over 5,400 Crore rupees in Gujarat; Says, government committed to providing life of dignity to the poor.
2. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath honoured Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla in Lucknow. The felicitation program was organised by the Department of Science and Technology of Uttar Pradesh to celebrate Shubhanshu’s arrival in his hometown after successfully completing the space mission Axiom 4.
3. The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying released the Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures for Blood Transfusion and Blood Banks for Animals in India. The Ministry said, the guidelines aim to establish State-Regulated veterinary blood banks, stresses on Biosafety and future-ready innovations in animal blood transfusion in India.
4. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan chaired the 56th IIT Council Meeting in New Delhi.
5. India is witnessing shift in agriculture with the rise of biostimulants. These natural products help plants withstand climate stress, improve nutrient uptake, and boost yields without synthetic chemicals. This change aligns with India’s goals for sustainable farming and global export growth.
What Are Biostimulants?
Biostimulants are substances derived from seaweed, humic acids, amino acids, vitamins, and beneficial microbes. Unlike fertilisers or pesticides, they activate plants’ internal systems to enhance growth and stress tolerance.
6. The 5th edition of Lok Samvardhan Parv is set to begin in Kerala’s Kochi, from today to the 4th of next month. The 10-day event organised by the Minority Affairs Ministry will be inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurian.
7. The Andhra Pradesh government announced a ₹1 crore life insurance cover for regular municipal workers and ₹20 lakh for outsourced workers, with the same amounts assured in cases of permanent disability. Additionally, education support up to ₹8 lakh will be provided for their children. CM N. Chandrababu Naidu made the announcement during the SwarnAndhra-SwachhAndhra campaign rally.
8. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said, Kurukshetra, the land of dharma, will now become the cleanest and most beautiful city in the country. To make this sacred land clean, an 11-week ‘Swachh Kurukshetra – Mera Kurukshetra, Mera Abhimaan’ mission has been launched.
9. Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla was sworn in as the 22nd Governor of Nagaland. He was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, Justice Ashutosh Kumar, at Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
10. India’s Parliament recently passed five landmark maritime bills in the Monsoon Session of 2025. These laws overhaul colonial-era regulations and aim to modernise the blue economy:
(a) The Bills of Lading Bill, 2025, replaces outdated laws with modern, standardised documentation.
(b) The Merchant Shipping Bill, 2025, updates maritime operations with clearer regulations and global compliance.
(c) The Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, 2025, adopts international rules like the Hague-Visby Rules to streamline processes and reduce litigation.
(d) The Indian Ports Bill, 2025, replaces a century-old law with modern governance, environmental safeguards, and unified port management.
(e) The Coastal Shipping Bill, 2025, simplifies licensing, regulates foreign vessels, and promotes sustainable coastal transport.
11. Ujjain will host “रूहmantic” – PHDCCI’s 2nd Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave on 27 August 2025, organized with the Ministry of Tourism and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will inaugurate the event.
12. The Telangana government has officially declared August 27, 2025 (Wednesday) as a general holiday for all educational institutions across the state, including schools, colleges, and universities, to mark the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
13. Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has achieved a milestone by crossing 8.11 crore subscribers as of 21st of this month, with more than 1.17 crore new subscribers enrolled in Financial Year 2024-25. Out of the total enrolments, 55 percent were women.

1. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Trinamool Congress MLA Jiban Krishna Saha from his residence in Burwan, Murshidabad district, in connection with the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the School Service Commission (SSC) teachers recruitment process in West Bengal.
2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lashed out at opposition parties for the protests against the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill. He highlighted that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself who had insisted on bringing the office of the PM under the aegis of this bill.
3. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has said that freedom of speech and expression is the strength of democracy, but this freedom should be used in a dignified manner. Mr Birla said this while addressing a two-day All India Speakers’ Conference at Delhi legislative assembly.
4. National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognizance of the Greater Noida Dowry murder case and asked the UP DGP to investigate the matter swiftly.
Condemning the case, its Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar expressed concern that these malpractices have taken up a new form now, and this is a matter of grave concern.

1. India’s tourism sector received a major boost in 2025 with the implementation of the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The Ministry of Tourism sanctioned 40 projects worth Rs. 3295.76 crore to develop iconic tourist centres across 23 states.

1. India and Algeria took a significant step towards boosting bilateral defence cooperation during Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi’s official visit to the North African country. The Army Chief, who is on a four-day official visit to Algeria from August 25 to 28, will hold meetings with top Algerian defence officials.
2. DRDO has selected Larsen & Toubro as the development and production partner for the 1,500 horsepower automatic transmission system designed for next generation main battle tanks. L&T will industrialize and scale up production supporting platforms like the Future Ready Combat Vehicle and Arjun M2.
3. Indian Army will operationalize its newly raised Bhairav commando battalions by the end of this month. Five battalions are being positioned along critical frontiers – three in the northern sector facing China and Pakistan, one in the northeast and one on the western front.
4. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai inaugurated nine border outposts of the Sashastra Seema Bal in Madhubani district.
