1. Andhra Pradesh Police CID officials are interrogating Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the Skill Development Corporation scam case for the second day at the Rajamahendravaram central prison on Sunday.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court extended the judicial custody of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu till October 5 in the alleged skill development corporation scam.

2. Trucks painted like Assam Rifles vehicles in Manipur: The paramilitary force claimed that some men with the help of valley-based insurgent groups (VBIGs) have acquired many trucks from markets and converted them to ones resembling the vehicles used by the Assam Rifles by painting and putting the insignia of the force.

It is also claimed that intention of VBIGs is to tarnish the image of Assam Rifles or to utilise the same for anti-national activities.

3. Bahujan Samaj Party MP Danish Ali called for action against BJP’s Nishikant Dubey on Sunday amid a brewing debate over communal remarks made in the Lok Sabha.

The controversy centers on the exchange of words in the Lok Sabha that led to BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri attack on Danish Ali. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey wrote to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging that Danish Ali used objectionable language against PM Modi, provoking MP Ramesh Bidhuri.

4. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) used the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) to seize properties of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, (the chief of banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ)), under the Section 33(5) of the UAPA, 1967.

1. India has been carrying out a lot of construction activities at the China border in the last three years, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Director General Lt General Rajeev Chaudhry said on Sunday. Nearly 300 BRO projects worth Rs 8,000 crore were completed during the last few years.

2. Defence Procurement Board (DPB) last week discussed the Indian Navy’s proposal for acquiring a second Vikrant-like aircraft carrier displacing 45,000 tonnes, and estimated to cost of around ₹40,000 crore, according to defence sources.

3. Army, CGDA (Defence accounts department) synergy facilitates release of Rs 400 cr in Long-pending claims dues to JCOs, other ranks. Majority of the claims pertained to house rent allowances, pay fixation cases and education allowances to children of the Army personnel.

4. The Chief of Naval Staff visited the U.S. from September 19 to 22 primarily to attend the 25th International Seapower Symposium (ISS).

5. The Supreme Court of India stated that courts should not interfere in the affairs of the Army, while hearing a petition filed by a woman colonel who was given the charge of a company of soldiers which is ordinarily commanded by a major, two ranks her junior. The court clarified that it cannot run the command structure of the Army and that issues should be resolved by the authorities themselves.

A bench headed by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud was hearing three matters- two pertaining to the women officers of the Army and one of the Navy- in which several grievances have been raised including about promotions.
