1. Antyodaya Diwas is celebrated annually on 25th September in India. It marks the birth anniversary of Indian leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and is celebrated in his honour to remember his life and legacy.

He was one of the most prominent personalities in the history of Indian politics. This year, the Antyodaya Diwas marks the 105th birth anniversary of Upadhyaya. He was the co-founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) and a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) thinker.

2. PM Modi will share his thoughts with the people of the country and abroad in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on All India Radio at 11 AM tomorrow, September 25. It will be the 93rd episode of the monthly radio programme.

3. Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on Saturday emphasized on adoption of Alternative Dispute Redressal Mechanism to reduce the pending cases in courts across the country. Addressing a seminar organized by Bar Council of India and Bihar State Bar Council in Patna.

4. The Government’s flagship programme ‘Make in India’ will complete eight years today. During the period so far, annual Foreign Direct Investment, FDI has doubled as 83 billion US dollars.

5. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar released a book titled “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay – Jeevan Darshan Aur Samsamyikta” in a programme in New Delhi on Saturday.

8. The National High Speed Rail Corporation has invited bids for constructing a 21-km underground tunnel as part of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. A 7-km stretch of the tunnel will be constructed under the sea, making it a complex engineering work.

9. Heavy rainfall warning issued for several states till September 27, list released. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may witness heavy rainfall across the next three days.

10. BJP has appointed Shiv Shakti Nath Bakshi as the party’s new Parliamentary Party Office Secretary. BJP General Secretary and Headquarters In-charge Arun Singh passed an order with regard to the appointment.

11. ASSAM : Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar will inaugurate the third edition of the Lok Manthan program at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. The event will be facilitated by the Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma.

12. GUJARAT : Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann will visit Ahmedabad on Sunday in preparation for the Gujarat elections.

13. HIMACHAL PRADESH : A team of the Election Commission of India led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey held meetings in Shimla to review the poll preparedness for the forthcoming Assembly Elections in Himachal Pradesh.

CRIME REPORT

1. KERALA , the NIA Court in Kochi, Sep24, remanded 11 Popular Front activists, arrested during the nationwide raid on 22 Sep, to seven days in NIA custody. the NIA said some of the documents seized during the raid had revealed a vicious plan by the accused to commit murders for terrorising people of other religious sections.

2. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Saturday was granted bail in a defamation case over his claim that people associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were receiving money from Pakistani spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence. He was granted bail on a personal bond of ₹50,000.

3. Two labourers from Bihar suffered injuries after terrorists opened fire on them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday evening. Police said the labourers have been shifted to a hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable.

4. A Class 12 student of Adarsh Ramswaroop Inter College in Uttar Pradesh’s Sitapur district allegedly shot at the school’s principal on the campus on Saturday. The 48-year-old principal, who was shot twice in the stomach, is stated to be in a critical condition.

5. The CBI on Saturday arrested former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey after a Delhi court granted a four-day remand of Pandey to the probe agency in connection with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) phone tapping case. It is alleged that Pandey’s company iSec Services Private Limited, along with others, illegally intercepted and recorded calls by various NSE officials from 2009-2017.

6. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has told the PMLA Court in Ranchi that CM Hemant Soren’s MLA representative Pankaj Mishra was managing an illegal mining operation worth over ₹1,000 crore in Jharkhand’s Sahibganj district and adjacent areas.

1. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman will launch the Bharat Vidya, which is an online learning platform for Oriental and South Asian Studies. The Bharat Vidya is designed and developed by the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI).

2. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that foodgrain production of 149.92 million tonnes is estimated in Kharif Season 2022-23.

3. TerraPay, a Dutch payments infrastructure company has joined forces with India’s NPCI International Payments (NIPL) to facilitate cross-border transactions for Indian consumers and merchants. Indian consumers and merchants who have an active Unified Payments Interface Id (UPI Id) will be able to transfer money abroad.

4. UCO Bank has received the approval of the Reserve Bank of India to open a special Vostro account with Gazprom Bank of Russia for trade settlement in Indian rupees.

5. Reserve Bank of India has canceled the license of Solapur-based The Laxmi Co-operative Bank Limited as the lender does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.

1. National Cinema Day 2022 observed on 23rd September. National Cinema Day is scheduled to be celebrated as a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers and an invitation to those who haven’t made it back to the cinema after the Covid-19 pandemic.

2. Actor and film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan aka KRK tweeted on Saturday that he’ll not be reviewing films after ‘Vikram Vedha’. “Thanks to all…Bollywood people…for not accepting me as…critic but filing so many cases against me to stop my reviews,” he added. KRK was arrested over derogatory tweet and molestation cases on August 30. He was later released on bail.

1. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday asserted that the government gives top priority to strengthen the country’s border infrastructure. Mr Shah assured that the boundary of the country is fully secured. He was addressing Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel at Kishanganj in Bihar after inaugurating building of four Border Observation Posts at Fatehpur, Pektola, Beria, Aamgachi and Raniganj.

2. Private Security Agency (PSA) Security personnel to be deployed at 60 Airports for non-core functions in place of CISF.

3. An indigenous loitering munition developed by Tata Advanced Systems Limited successfully struck its targets during tests at Pokhran, said a report. The system, called ALS 50, is designed for Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) and will reportedly soon be inducted into the armed forces. The bomb-carrying drone reportedly has a range of 1,000 km and a 23-kg load-carrying capacity.
