1. The festival of colours, Holi will be celebrated throughout the country on Monday. The festival signifies the victory of good over evil and celebrates the arrival of the Spring season.
💐Happy Holi, It is one of the most cherished and celebrated festivals of Bharat. Holi falls in February or March in the English calendar, corresponding to the end of the full moon or Purnima, called the Falgun (or Phalgun) Purnima in the Hindu month of Falgun. Holika Dahan, observed on the eve of Holi, falls in the Falgun Purnima (March 24, 2024 Sunday), and on the next day, Chaitra Krishna Paksha Pratipada (March 25, 2024 Monday), Holi is celebrated.
2. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall, snowfall alert in several parts of the country. It predicted heavy rainfall/snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh during 25 and 26 March; over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 25 March.
3. The Election Commission Launches Saksham App to facilitate easier voting for persons with disabilities and to avail facilities at polling stations. The Election Commission has announced that the voters above 85 years of age and Persons with Disabilities with 40 percent benchmark disability can vote from home.
4. The Bharatiya Janata Party released its fifth list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections on Sunday. The list mentioned names of 111 candidates, including that of Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh, former Union minister Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Ramayan fame Arun Govil from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
5. Industrialist and former Congress MP Naveen Jindal and independent MLA from Haryana Ranjit Chautala joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday and were named as the party’s candidates from Kurukshetra and Hisar Lok Sabha seats respectively in the state.
6. NDA seat-sharing almost done, BJP likely to contest on 26 seats in Maharashtra
The NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement includes allocating 12-14 seats to the Shinde-led Shiv Sena and 5 seats to Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
7. The executive director of Dempo Industries, Pallavi Dempo, is the first woman candidate in the BJP’s Goa poll history. The BJP declared Ms Dempo’s candidature from South Goa. The South Goa seat is currently represented by Congress leader Francisco Sardinha. The BJP won this seat in 1999 and 2014 but couldn’t retain it.
8. Lok Sabha Polls 2024: Kerala BJP President K. Surendran to contest for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat to face Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad.
9. Varaprasad Rao, a former MP and a YSR Congress leader from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Anurag Thakur and party General Secretary Vinod Tawde.
10. The United Left panel on Sunday effected a clean sweep in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) election, defeating its nearest rival the RSS-affiliated ABVP.
Dhananjay from the All India Students’ Association (AISA) won the JNUSU president’s post by securing 2,598 votes against Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) Umesh C Ajmeera who secured 1,676 votes.

1. An Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati student, who had allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS, was arrested under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on Sunday, The student was detained three days after the ISIS India head Haris Farooqi alias Harish Ajmal Farukhi and his associate Anurag Singh alias Rehan were arrested in Dhubri district after they had crossed over from Bangladesh.
2. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal arrest: I.N.D.I.A plans mega rally on 31 March: Opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) will hold a ‘maha rally’ at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on March 31 to safeguard the country’s interests and democracy, Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai said.
3. The Enforcement Directorate has taken cognisance of Delhi minister Atishi’s statement that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sent her directions from the agency’s custody to initiate public welfare works related to water and sewerage.
The federal agency will conduct an investigation to ascertain if these directions from the arrested chief minister were in line with the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court’s order issued to the ED and Kejriwal during his custody period, the sources said.

A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team, probing into an attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials at West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali on January 5, on Sunday visited a village in the area to gather more evidence. This is the second visit of the CBI to Sarberia village in North 24 Parganas district after securing the custody of suspended TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh, the main accused in the attack, on March 6.
5. A Ganeshamurthi, MP of the MDMK from Erode, Tamil Nadu was on Sunday hospitalised, with his condition stated to be serious by doctors. While several reports claimed that he may have attempted suicide.

1. Pan India superstar Prabhas is all set to grace the silver screen once again with the highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin. Kalki 2898 AD is reportedly being made on a massive budget of Rs. 600 crore. This makes it the most expensive Indian film ever made to date. The movie is scheduled to release on 9 May 2024.

1. Union defence minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday celebrated Holi festival with armed forces personnel at Leh military station in Leh. The defence minister was accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande and General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps Lt Gen Rashim Bali.
2. The Indian Army has officially announced the opening of the date selection link for the SSB (Services Selection Board) interviews for the Short Service Commission Technical (SSC Tech)-63 course. The Indian Navy on March 23 completed 100 days from December 23 of the ongoing maritime security operations under the aegis of Operation Sankalp.
