Manipur: 12 militants released after mob stops security forces
Security forces released 12 Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) militants in Manipur’s Itham village after a mob of over 1200 people led by women surrounded the target area and prevented them from continuing with the operation, stated an official release from Defence PRO.

1. DRONES USED TO MONITOR ROAD BLOCKS IN MANIPUR: The Army said that a large group of women who were part of a mob prevented the movement of additional personnel in areas bordering Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts in Manipur as “armed miscreants” opened fire at villages.
Though no one was killed or injured in the incident, Army said a pattern had emerged in the past 20 days where armed miscreants sneak into villages and fire with automatic weapons while women protesters block roads, stopping the movement of security forces.
2. Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray called for the Enforcement Directorate to investigate the PM CARES Fund. The ED is currently probing a CAG report claiming irregularities worth ₹12,000 crore in COVID facilities set up when Thackeray was Maharastra CM.
3. Kerala Congress has blocked the NH-66 near the Kannur Caltex Junction as they protest the arrest of KPCC President K Sudhakaran. The 75-year-old was arrested by the Kerala Police’s Crime Branch in an alleged cheating case and later released on bail.
