1.HAPPY CHRISTMAS 2025 The President, Vice President and Prime minister have greeted citizens on the eve of Christmas. President Smt Droupadi Murmu emphasised imbibing Jesus Christ’s message of love and harmony in the lives of people. 

 The festival of Christmas commemorates the of Jesus Christ. Christmas is celebrated on 25th December every year. This is an approximate date of birth of Christ, though there is no historical data to corroborate it. It is observed as a public holiday in many countries including India.

Tulsi Pujan Diwas is celebrated every year on 25th December across India with devotion and reverence.
🌱 Significance
Tulsi (Holy Basil) is considered a sacred plant and is believed to be a form of Goddess Lakshmi and very dear to Lord Vishnu.
The day highlights the importance of Indian culture, Ayurveda, and environmental protection.
Keeping a Tulsi plant at home is believed to bring positivity, purity, and good health.

3. Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, participated in the High-Level Task Force Meeting on Agriculture and Horticulture in New Delhi. The meeting – convened by Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang – focused on strengthening the agri-horti ecosystem by leveraging the region’s inherent strengths, with specialisation, quality, and the ability to stand out as the unique selling proposition of agri-horti products.

6. Home Minister Amit Shah takes salute at Haryana Police Passing out Parade
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, inspected and took the salute at the passing out parade of the Haryana Police at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula. Director General of the Haryana Police Academy, Ashinder Singh Chawla, administered the oath to 5061 newly recruited police personnel.

7. Union Home Minister Amit Shah virtually inaugurated the Vita Milk Chilling Centre in Salempur village of Bhiwani district, built at a cost of three crore 30 lakh rupees by the Haryana Dairy Cooperative Development Federation, during the Mega Cooperative Conference organised by KRIBHCO in Panchkula, Haryana.

11. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said, the Centres contribution under the Viksit Bharat: G RAM G scheme has been raised to nearly 95 thousand crore rupees as compared to MGNREGA which was 86 thousand crore rupees.

16. People in Telangana have been feeling the chilly weather from the past two weeks under the impact of the cold wave. Many have been checking the temperatures. While the minimum temperature of 4.5°C was recorded this winter season, the lowest temperature recorded in the State since 2015 was 2°C on 10 January 2015.

19. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange warning for dense to very dense fog conditions over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand for next three days.

20. Renowned litterateur and Jnanpith Award awardee, late Vinod Kumar Shukla, was cremated with full state honour yesterday in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Shri Shukla passed away on 23 Dec during treatment at AIIMS Raipur. He was 88.

1. In a bid to curb pollution, the Commission for Air Quality (CAQM) in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Adjoining Areas has issued show cause notices to six thermal power plants within 3 hundred kilometer radius of Delhi. These have been issued for non-compliance with biomass co-firing norms, notified under the Environment (Utilisation of Crop Residue by Thermal Power Plants) Rules, 2023.

2. In West Bengal, members of Sanatani Oikyo Mancha protested in front of the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata to protest against the brutal torture and killing of Dipu Das in Bangladesh. Protest was witnessed near the iconic Howrah Bridge in Kolkata also. Members of the Mancha also organised rallies in the border districts of West Bengal.

3. A Delhi court extended the judicial custody of seven accused in the Red Fort blast case by 15 days, remanding them to jail till January 8.

4. In Maharashtra, after weeks of negotiations, the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) announced a formal alliance for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections and other municipal polls, including in Nashik. The announcement was made by cousins Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray during a joint press conference in Mumbai.

5. A Delhi court
ordered the framing of charges of criminal conspiracy and corruption against Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and six others in the Chinese visa scam case.

6. The Delhi High Court
suspended the jail term of expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is serving a life sentence in the 2017 Unnao rape case. The court granted relief subject to strict conditions, including movement restrictions and regular police reporting.

7. In Odisha, 22 Maoists, including 10 women cadres, surrendered before the police in Malkangiri district.

8. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed gratitude to the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for acknowledging the success of Prime Minister led ‘Make in India’ programme.

1. Border 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on 23 January 2026, aligning with India’s Republic Day weekend. The first poster and the release date were unveiled on India’s 79th Independence Day, with the film’s tagline Hindustan ke liye ladenge… phir ek baar! (We will fight for India… once again!)

Nearly 30 years after Border turned a generation of actors into war-film icons, the battle is being revisited, this time with a mix of old faces, new stars and a bit of digital trickery. It will bring back Sunny Deol in a major role. But surprisingly, fans of the original version will also witness familiar faces in brief appearances.

2. In Odisha, the largest open-air theatre in the world, ‘Dhanu Yatra’ was inaugurated yesterday evening at Bargarh in Odisha. 1. INSV Kaundinya, the Indian Navy’s pioneering stitched sailing vessel that revives India’s ancient shipbuilding and seafaring traditions, will undertake her maiden overseas voyage on 29 Dec 2025. The vessel will be flagged off from Porbandar, Gujarat, for Muscat, Oman, symbolically retracing the historic maritime routes that connected India with the wider Indian Ocean world for millennia.

2. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has inducted the first Pollution Control Vessel, Samudra Pratap, at Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL). Samudra Pratap is the first indigenously designed and built Pollution Control Vessel of the Indian Coast Guard. The vessel was formally delivered to the Coast Guard today during an induction ceremony.

3. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has launched a new BRO manual on preparing Detailed Project Reports for road infrastructure projects to ensure faster execution, technical accuracy, and improved strategic connectivity in border areas.

4. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved a landmark success with the completion of user evaluation trials for the Next Generation Akash (Akash-NG) surface-to-air missile system.

5. India has conducted a user trial of the K-4 submarine-launched ballistic missile from INS Arihant in the Bay of Bengal on 23 December 2025. This test, achieving a range of approximately 3,500 km, represents a key advancement in the sea-based component of India’s nuclear triad.
