10. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to start a Vande Bharat between Ayodhya and Sitamarhi for the benefit of pilgrims.
The Bihar Chief Minister said that with the construction of the Ram-Janaki Marg, devotees will be able to visit Punaura Dham, believed to be the birthplace of Sita, along with Ayodhya.
11. The Ayushman Bharat PM-Jay Jan Aarogya Yojana (ABPMJ) scheme introduced by PM Modi, marked 6th year anniversary. PM-JAY is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government. Launched in 2018, it offers a sum insured of Rs.5 lakh per family for secondary care and tertiary care.

1. The Karnataka High Court will pronounce its verdict on Tuesday on the petition filed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah challenging the approval granted by Governor Taawarchand Gehlot to investigate him in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites allotment case.
2. The Thane police crime branch killed Akshay Shinde, arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two four-year-old girls at a school in Badlapur last month, in an encounter on Monday evening, allegedly after he snatched a police officer’s gun and shot three rounds at him.

The country’s food safety regulator has issued a show cause notice to a Tamil Nadu-based firm for allegedly supplying substandard ghee to temple authority Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam even as the chorus for a thorough probe and strict action over the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati laddus grew louder.
4. Supreme Court on Monday used the legal term ‘inchoate crime’ to refer to mere possession of any child pornographic material that it said would constitute offences under the POCSO even if not disseminated further.
Inchoate crimes are defined as criminal acts that are committed in preparation for a further offence. The term ‘inchoate’ itself means ‘undeveloped’ or ‘incomplete’,” a bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala said.

6. Mere downloading, storage or watching of sexually explicit and abusive material involving children would amount to offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology laws, the Supreme Court ruled on Monday.
7. In the detonator blast case on the railway track in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, a suspect has been arrested. The accused, named Sabir, was responsible for planting 10 detonators on the railway track.
Sabir is an employee of the railways. It is still under investigation whether this was a mischief or part of a larger conspiracy.

Accusing the previous Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, appointed by the YSRC government in Andhrapradesh, of attempting to sell properties donated by devotees to Lord Venkateswara Swamy, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan asserted that the NDA alliance government will take the responsibility of protecting the properties belonging to the Srivari temple.
He urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to conduct a comprehensive probe into the decisions taken by the previous TTD board with regard to TTD’s assets.

1. The Indian Navy is all set to embark on the extraordinary mission of circumnavigating the globe with the second edition of Navika Sagar Parikrama expedition. A curtain raiser event presided by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Vice Chief of Naval Staff was held at New Delhi on 23 Sep 24.
Indian Naval Sailing Vessel Tarini would sail on this challenging expedition with two courageous women officers – Lt Cdr Dilna K and Lt Cdr Roopa A on 02 Oct 24. The historic voyage will be flagged off from Naval Ocean Sailing Node, INS Mandovi, Goa.
2. A poem on the National War Memorial and a chapter on India-Pakistan war martyr Abdul Hameed have been included in the NCERT’s Class 6 curriculum from this academic session.
The chapter titled ‘Veer Abdul Hameed’ honors the Braveheart CQMH (Company Quarter Master Havildar). Abdul Hameed who made the supreme sacrifice fighting for the country during the India-Pakistan war of 1965.
