1. The India Meteorological Department on Sunday issued a red alert in Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts of Kerala and an orange alert for six other districts in the state forecasting heavy rains. A red alert indicates heavy to extremely heavy rain of over 20 cm in 24 hours.
The IMD has has also issued an orange alert in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts for Monday.
2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed the preparedness to deal with floods that affect various parts of the country during the monsoon.
3. The flood situation in Assam continued to remain grim on Sunday with over 1.17 lakh people still reeling under the deluge across 10 districts of the state, The flood waters have inundated 968 villages in 27 revenue circles in these districts.

5. The Union education ministry’s high-level panel for suggesting exam reforms and reviewing functioning of the National Testing Agency will meet on Monday. Amid a row over irregularities in competitive exams, the ministry on Saturday notified a seven-member panel headed by former Indian Space Research Organisation chief K Radhakrishnan to ensure transparent, smooth and fair conduct of examinations through the National Testing Agency.

1. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has moved the Supreme Court against the Delhi high court’s interim stay on a trial court’s order granting him bail in a money-laundering case linked to the alleged excise scam.
The Aam Aadmi Party national convenor, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21, could have walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday had the high court not granted the interim relief.
2. The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) of the Bihar police said, the NEET-UG examination paper was leaked by a professional interstate organized gang from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand. Thirteen members of this organized gang have been arrested by SIT which is investigating the case.
A CBI team probing alleged irregularities in the conduct of the UGC-NET examination was allegedly attacked by locals in Bihar’s Nawada after which four persons were arrested by the police on a complaint from the central agency.
3. A Maoist was gunned down by security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district on Sunday, A gun battle broke out at 3:30 pm in a forest near Muhkot-Aamjhar villages under Khallari police station limits when a District Reserve Guard team under Dhamtari superintendent of police Anjneya Varshney was out on an anti-Maoist operation.
4. The Special Task Force of the West Bengal police arrested a college student and detained five others from Panagarh area in Paschim Bardhaman district for their alleged links with a Bangladesh-based terror outfit and with banned Islamist organisation Shahadat-e al Hiqma of Bangladesh.
5. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee filed a complaint with the Amritsar police commissioner against a woman after she allegedly performed Yoga in the parikrama of the Golden Temple and later posting photographs of the act on social media.
6. Janata Dal-Secular MLC Suraj Revanna — the brother of former MP Prajwal Revanna who is facing allegations of sexually abusing several women — was arrested on Sunday on charges of “unnatural offences” against him.
7. In Hyderabad, Telangana, Cyberabad Police have imposed Section 144 in the Miyapur area following a gathering of thousands of people on a government land parcel in Survey Nos. 100 and 101, spanning around 600 acres and valued at crores of rupees.
A heavy police force has been deployed at the site to prevent further protests. The prohibitory orders will be effective from 6 AM on June 23 to 11 PM on June 29 within the limits of Miyapur and Chandanagar Police Stations under Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.
8. Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman came down heavily on the Congress over the Tamil Nadu hooch tragedy. She said that 56 people have died and over 200 people are still in hospital in a critical state, but the Congress has not yet uttered a word against this. The Finance Minister demanded that this whole matter be given to the CBI for investigation.
9. A 35-year-old leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM)– the youth wing of the BJP– was shot and killed by two motorcycle-borne attackers in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore during early hours of Sunday.

1. Indian Navy is set to place an order for four Tapas drones built in India by the DRDO.The Indian Navy intends to use the drones developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation for surveillance over the maritime zone.
2. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) completed the third Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) Landing Experiment (LEX) on June 23 at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) in Chitradurga, Karnataka. On Sunday morning, the winged vehicle, Pushpak, was released from an Indian Air Force Chinook Helicopter at an altitude of 4.5 km.
3. Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Indian Army and Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER), an autonomous R&D laboratory under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance collaboration in ‘Next Generation Wireless Technologies for Indian Army.

6. Security forces on Sunday recovered body of a terrorist killed in an anti-infiltration operation along the Line of Control in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces had launched an operation in Gohallan area of Uri sector on Saturday after noticing suspicious movement of two men near the LoC.

Two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force’s jungle warfare unit CoBRA were killed after Maoists blew up a truck with an improvised explosive device in Chhattisgah’s Sukma district on Sunday. The Maoist blast took place around 3 pm near Timmapuram village between Silger and Tekalgudem camps of security forces.
