3. The Finance Minister has announced several proposals for the housing sector. She said, Government will invest 10 lakh crore rupees under PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 to meet housing needs of one crore urban poor and middle-class families.

7. India has made great progress in protecting forests. From 2010 to 2020, 266,000 hectares of new forest will be added each year. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), this makes India the third country in the world in terms of forest area growth.

8. The Indian government has made a 100-day health plan that includes U-WIN, an online platform for managing vaccines that aims to increase the number of children in the country who get vaccinated.

*U-WIN* is a website that helps people keep track of immunization records for kids younger than six and women who are pregnant. Users sign up with a government ID (like Aadhaar) and a cellphone number, which lets the system keep track of their vaccination records.

9. The city of Aizawl in Mizoram will be the fourth capital in Northeast India to have train service by July 2025. Currently, Guwahati, Agartala, and Naharlagun are all connected to the railway network.

10. Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday said Tamil Nadu has been completely ignored in the Union Budget and to condemn it, he said he will boycott the July 27 NITI Aayog meet in Delhi, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

11. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee says, each Durga Puja committee will receive Rs 85,000 from the state goverment this year. The grant for over 43,000 organizers is likely to cost the state exchequer over Rs 365.5 crore, up from Rs 280 crore when around 40,000 organizers had received this grant last year.

1. The Supreme Court refuses to cancel NEET-UG 2024 examination; Says no evidence to suggest a systemic breach.

2. Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the National Testing Agency to revise its merit list by treating the answer suggested by a panel of three experts of IIT Delhi to a controversial physics question as the correct one.

The NTA had treated the two options as correct answers to the Physics question and had granted four marks to those examinees who had marked these options.

3. The Delhi high court on Tuesday directed X Corp and Google Inc to remove alleged objectionable social media posts against Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s daughter Anjali Birla.

4. The Centre has directed the Pune police to apprise it of the marital status of the parents of controversial IAS probationer Puja Khedkar amid allegations that she fraudulently availed of the OBC non-creamy layer benefit in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam by claiming that they were separated.

5. The Delhi high court on Tuesday transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) the case pertaining to the death of a 23-year-old man who was seen in a viral video being purportedly assaulted and forced to sing the national anthem during the communal riots here in 2020.

In a video clip that had gone viral on social media, Faizan, along with four other Muslim men, was seen being beaten up by policemen while being forced to sing the national anthem and ‘Vande Mataram’.

The MP-MLA court in Lucknow has declared former UP minister and Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party national president Swami Prasad Maurya, his daughter former BJP MP from Badaun Sanghamitra Maurya and three others as “proclaimed offenders” under CrPC Section 82 (4) in connection with the Deepak Kumar Swarnkar case.

1. Defence gets Rs 6.21 lakh cr, 4.79% hike from previous allocation.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Rs 1,05,518 crore (Rs 1.05 lakh crore) has been earmarked for domestic capital procurement and it will provide further impetus to self-reliance in defence production.

On the capital outlay, the defence ministry said Rs 92,088 crore has been set aside for sustenance and operational readiness.

2. *GRSE AND MERLINHAWK AEROSPACE PARTNER TO DEVELOP COUNTER-UAV SOLUTION FOR INDIAN NAVY* : Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd on Monday said that it has signed an MoU with Bangalore-based Merlinhawk Aerospace Pvt Ltd for developing a counter-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) solution using Electro-Optical Fire Control System (EOFCS) with Close Range Naval 91-gun and an Electro-Optical Infra-Red Search and Track (EOIRST) System.

3. Farnborough: In a latest collaboration, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus Helicopters have formalised a contract to establish the H125 Final Assembly Line (FAL) in India.

The FAL will be the first instance of the private sector setting up a helicopter assembly facility here in India, which will be responsible for the production of Airbus’ best-selling H125 helicopter from its civil range for India and the neighbouring countries.

4. A soldier was killed as the Army thwarted an infiltration bid by terrorists along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district early Tuesday.

Lt Gen Michael AJ Fernandes, Commandant of the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, recently addressed participants of the ‘Young Leaders Course’ at the academy’s Young Leaders Training Wing.
