1. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh. Over 25 trains are running late due to fog conditions.

2. The Ministry of Minority Affairs will organize the second edition of Lok Samvardhan Parv from the 27th of this month till the 2nd of next month in New Delhi. The Ministry in a statement said that 90 artisans from different parts of the country would participate in the event showcasing their art and crafts.

3. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) organized a National Conference of District Magistrates to speed up the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN). The Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JANMAN) is initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in India.

Prayagraj Railway Division has rolled out extensive plans to run over 150 special Mela trains to accommodate the large influx of devotees expected at the Mahakumbh on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. These special trains will be operated direction-wise from all nine stations in Prayagraj, ensuring smooth travel for the devotees.

7. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar cautions against fake narratives eroding trust in electoral processes; Highlights role of technology in shaping future of elections. He said this while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day conference organized by Election Commission of India in New Delhi.

The first Artificial and Emotional Intelligence-driven fashion forecasting platform, VisionNxt has been launched during the 40th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Hyderabad. The VisionNxt platform, developed under the Ministry of Textiles, intended to integrate AI and EI to provide unique trend insights designed for India’s fashion and retail market.

9. On January 20, 2025, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the ‘Deendayal Upadhyay Bhoomiheen Krishi Majdoor Kalyana Yojana’ in Raipur. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to over 5.62 lakh landless agricultural labourers, including Baigas and Gunias, with an annual grant of Rs 10,000.

10. The Government of India is focusing on enhancing manufacturing capabilities in Tier 2 and 3 cities. This initiative aims to boost the country’s economic growth by increasing the contribution of manufacturing to the Gross Value Added. The Commerce Ministry has mandated states and Union Territories (UTs) to develop a ‘City Level Economic Vision’ for 100 selected cities by June 2026.

11. Mizoram has become the first Northeast state to distribute property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme, which provides legal ownership documents to rural households. The state has already distributed 2,909 cards and plans to issue around 35,000 more in future phases, promoting rural development.

12. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a warning of a very high risk of forest fires in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir over the next seven days.

1. OPERATION CYBER SHIELD : Chhattisgarh Police has conducted a major operation against cyber fraud and arrested sixty-two people by raiding about forty places in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Odisha state. Arrested persons include three citizens of Nigeria.

2. The officers of the Customs Commissionerate (Preventive) Vijayawada, along with officers of the Anti-Evasion, Guntur Central GST Commissionerate successfully conducted a joint operation in Vijayawada and detected recovered 17 lakh 60 thousand smuggled cigarette sticks worth 1.76 crore rupees.

3. The Mumbai police have arrested D. K. Rao, one of the key associates of gangster Chhota Rajan, along with six absconding accomplices in an extortion case. According to the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch, they had been demanding Rs. 2.5 crore in protection money from a hotel owner, threatening his life. An FIR has been filed against all the accused.

4. The Madras High Court has recently mandated local authorities in five districts of Tamil Nadu to devise a comprehensive action plan to combat pollution in the Vaigai River. This directive follows alarming reports of severe contamination due to waste discharge.

5. In 2024, Maharashtra’s agriculture department uncovered fraud within the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). Over 414,000 crop insurance claims were identified as bogus, denoting the misuse of this subsidised insurance scheme.

1. India to maintain 6 to 8 per cent economic growth rate keeping inflation in check in coming year, says Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at World Economic Forum, Davos.

2. Telangana government has entered into an MoU with Sun Petrochemicals to develop three pumped storage hydropower projects in the districts of Nagarkurnool, Mancherial and Mulugu. These projects will have a combined capacity of 3,400 MW and will be complemented by downstream integrated solar power plants with a capacity of 5,440 MW.

3. The Government of India has set a goal to achieve 10,000 Geographical Indication (GI) tags by 2030. This initiative was announced by Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, during the GI Samagam event in New Delhi.

Graves and Suchitra Mattai. Anuja follows a nine-year-old girl who, alongside her sister Palak, faces a life-changing opportunity that tests their bond and mirrors the struggles of girls worldwide.

1. The full dress rehearsal for Republic Day 2025 showcased India’s rich heritage, military prowess, and cultural diversity at Kartavya Path in the national capital yesterday. The Indian Army is fully geared to showcase its strength during the 76th Republic Day on the Kartavya path on the 26th January.

2. The Indian Defence Ministry has invited Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) to negotiate what is expected to be India’s largest defence deal, valued at over ₹70,000 crore. This negotiation is scheduled for 27 January 2025.The deal involves the construction of six advanced submarines under Project 75(I).

3. JSW Defence has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telangana government to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) in the state.This initiative, announced on 23 January 2025, during the World Economic Forum in Davos.

4. Paras Defence and Space Technologies Limited has announced a significant investment of ₹12,000 crore to establish India’s first dedicated optics park in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.This ambitious project, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government, is set to span over the next ten years, with operations expected to commence in 2028.

5. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to unveil a Laser-Based Directed Energy Weapon during the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2025. This event marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time such a weapon is showcased in India.
